LOS ANGELES - Country singer Sara Evans on Thursday announced she was filing for divorce and quitting the Dancing With the Stars television competition.
Evans filed for divorce from Craig Schelske in Williamson County, Tenn., where she lives, according to a statement issued by Allen Brown, her representative at Sony BMG Music Entertainment.

I refuse however, to make that choice for others because it is theirs to make, not mine.
Absolutely. But, in the most loving manner possible, I want them to make an INFORMED choice.

Are you as quick to condemn Ms Evans for participating in Dancing With The Stars?
Until this evening* I have never seen the show, but this thread tweaked my interest. Tonights episode was Romantic Dancing (or some such thing) and hyped "seductive and romantic dancing."
Does Ms Evans' dancing sexily (and no doubt spending a lot of time practicingwith that man) with a man not her husband while wearing a sexy dress on national television offend you or is that acceptable behavior?
*I live in Europe and see shows much later than they air in the States, so this episode might have aired weeks ago back home.

No porn, eh? Ever seen what was all over the walls in Pompei? Porn of some sort has been around since the beginning of time. Um...reading is fundamental.
Did I say there was no porn? No, I didn't. I said that those who say porn is an integral part of male relationships are engaging in presentism or are taking their own preferences and making them out to be something unavoidable for all. Additionally, you might want to be careful about citing the Romans...their republic feel apart under the weight of many of the same "freedoms" we are adopting in our Republic.

Cool, I'm getting Stateside shows much sooner than I thought.
I understand Katie Couric will be taking over the CBS News soon? ;-)

Well, that's the problem with us women, we think our feelings are more important than men's feelings and needs. There you go making a habit out to be a need again. Intellectually sloppy and morally bankrupt.

Keep in mind that SQ has repeatedly said that a couple that uses porn brings a third person into the marriage, and a guy using porn secretly is cheating. Neither applies in any way to the situation that you propose.
Kinda seems redundant to me, though.

I did an in forum on SQ, and you must be a hair trigger kind of guy if you think any of that would justify violence. They don't even come close, and if you think any of those posts would justify violence, please share which ones? And, once again in your first post to SQ you condemned her for answering a post where she received a de facto
invitation to respond.
In other words, ou were not only practicing the "free speech for me and none for thee" so prized by the liberal crowd, you have now said that anyone who expresses those opinions should not only shut up, but should expect a beat down. Truly, a mark of real intellectual prowess.
I suggest you quit whining. This is FR, so man up a little.

Neither applies in any way to the situation that you propose. It was a hypothetical question, and it does illustrate something to me. The problem, then, for alot of Freepers with Porn, is that it introduces a 3rd person into the equation. I had rather thought (being a former lib), that many simply had hangups about sex. I am glad to have been proven wrong.

Never, not once, did I say making a habit out of viewing porn is a good thing. I responded to the woman who said it would "hurt her feelings" if her husband looked at a picture of a naked woman.
I'm starting to wonder why you're on this thread so much. Me starting to thinks you doth protest too much.

Hildy, i agree with you on both comments. Except that you say a little porn is fine for men. I think that it is probably fine for both sexes.

Sara's exhusband, Craig, is a republican who ran for Congress several years ago.

I listen to Dr. Laura a lot, and some woman called in about her husband looking at porn to get himself stimulated, and so everyone was thinking how awful the guy was, but then he came BACK on the phone and pointed out that she lays there and fantasizes about other men to get herself stimulated....so he felt that the way he got himself ready was okay, and actually Dr. Laura did too.

what if the wife thinks it's okay for the husband to look at porn? Is that cheating?

Yes, I saw Sara in concert in Agoura, CA. Her family - she had two kids at the time with Craig, was there, and so was Craig. There were some hummers with Oregon plates (I think that's where she lives)... she sang "Could Not Ask for More" and she was awesome!

I wanted to start one, but what some of us have been doing is just slipping in our comments whenever something remotely connected to "Dancing" comes up, lol.

My point was that is someone said to my face, some of the things said by these caustic fools, they would find themselves sitting on their asses...
Including you, if you persist. It seems that common courtesy and etiquette go to blazes when a thread is invaded by people who claim they represent the best of humanity.
Bull!!!
Theoretically speaking....
Now go pet your fish....and take your phony baloney with you.

the bottom line to a healthy, happy and loving relationship is concern for your partner's feelings; that goes both ways. Beautifully put.
And I agree whole-heartedly.
