Things are quiet and peaceful in small-town Jericho, Kansas, but when a baffling explosion occurs in the distance, Jericho's residents are plunged into social, psychological and physical chaos. No one knows what to think, and fear of the unknown takes over the town, especially because its isolation cuts it off from outside help. When nearly everything they know seems gone, will the residents of JERICHO band together to face their unfamiliar and mysterious new world?
Thanks for the heads up.
What will this town have to do to survive the waves of sick, hungry and lawless fleeing from Denver?????
Will there be a PC solution?
So far, the refugees coming from Denver have died from radiation poisoning on the outskirts of town.
Will there be further waves?
We shall see.
Good point!
Maybe from the suburbs?
I live outside of a major city -- far enough that we'll probably not be damaged by the blast. I I sometimes wonder what we'll do when (if) that portion of the population closer in that has been demolished but still alive starts working its way out.
There will be a real outbound rocket trail in my night sky in 30 minutes. Delta II at 8:38 PM ET. Love those night launches.
Very cool.
Thanks for the Vandenberg heads up!
Whoops, wrong end. This one went up from Cape Canaveral.
Don't know about the topography of Kansas, but aren't there any bikes in Jericho? If so, why don't some of the residents hop on them and go get help. That is if that hasn't happened yet. Too logical, I guess.
add me to the ping list, please...
"Our targets or theirs?"
My concern is that "theirs" may refer to the US government. "Ours" may refer to the group that has seized control of the missiles and launched them. This makes Rob Hawkins a bad guy.
Or it could be the reverse, in which Hawkins is a good guy, while the bad guys are the ones who seized control of the missiles.
In one scenario, the EMP bomb came courtesy of the US government to prevent the unautorized launch of the missiles. In the other, the EMP bomb came from abroad.
In Hawkins' map, it appeared that more than 8 cities were hit. Were these new domestic targets the result of the missiles we saw launched from Wyoming?
From last week, Hawkins' home page was Russian language. Is he a Russian agent launching American missiles against American targets? At least we can confirm that he knew this was going to happen and that is why he was sent to Jericho.
Jake was supposed to go to San Diego in the first episode, and San Diego was hit in the first batch of targets. Why was he supposed to go there? Why on Hawkins' website is Jake's picture marked "Passport Pulled"?
In George Miller's 3 "Max Mad" films, we see how a society melts down after a nuclear holocaust. We're watching the first phase where there are no courts and not enough police, but the people haven't figured it out yet. They are still trying to live in a world of safety, cops, due process, justice and prisons. At some point, the people are going to wake up, enforce their own law, and Mitch Cafferty and his gang will be tried and publicly hanged. You can count on it.
New York survived and Washington is gone? We have a successful decapitation strike on our hands. The IRS is gone. (Good news!) The Defense Department may be gone. (Bad news!)
The plot thickens.
Interesting episode. With the EMP, this has become sort of a "Lost" in Kansas.
The town almost took a turn towards socialism ("your crops belong to all of us now"), but they fought it.
On a (somewhat) related subject -- Edwards AFB holds its Open House and Air Show this weekend.
.... . / -.- -. --- .-- ... / .-. --- -...
Can you translate that?
Sorry, "He knows Rob"
The Morse Code from episode 4
Rob was gone from his family for 4 years. Jake was gone from his family for 8(?) years. Paramilitary training? Does Jake Know Rob?
Rob certainly knows something about Jake . . .
Another Floridian-Space Nut-Jericho watcher? Who would have thought? :D
