I think Kentucky will get it next week.

They sure do not have the skills a lot of the eliminated teams have. They have had a lot of good luck and some help, but the 6-pack alliance can't survive very much longer. Last night was probably the last time it could work amicably.

Episode #7: Mauritius

BEAUTY QUEENS SAIL TO VICTORY,
DAVID & MARY MARKED AGAIN

The chasm between the newly dubbed "six-pack" and the other three Teams widens when tempers flare between Karlyn and Tyler at the airport. On the beautiful island of Mauritius, beauty queens Dustin & Kandice rule the day by choosing wisely at the Detour, a decision later that sinks coal miner and wife David & Mary who are again marked for elimination.

THE BATTLE BEGINS

Departing the Pit Stop in first place at 12:37am, coal miner and wife David & Mary rip open their clue instructing them to fly over 4,600 miles to Mauritius, a tiny island nation in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Africa. They will find their next clue waiting in the marked cars when they land.

With the Fast Forward putting them hours ahead of the other Teams, David & Mary arrive at the airport before anyone else leaves the Pit Start. They know their lead will be short lived because the earliest flight to Mauritius doesn't leave until the next morning at 8:00am on British Airways, giving the other Teams ample opportunity to catch up.

"Oh no you DIDN'T!"

Even though ultimately everyone books the same flight, sparks fly at the ticket counter when Dustin & Kandice try to help out model friends Tyler & James by purchasing their tickets while single moms Lyn & Karlyn stand waiting directly behind the beauty queens. A furious Karlyn shouts, "You can't do that! You know you can't do that!" After the beauty queens walk away with their ticket, they quip, "We're not going to miss their friendship because there was never one to begin with."

With the ticket agent now assisting Tyler & James ahead of Lyn & Karlyn, Karlyn shifts her ire onto the models, asking, "If it was reversed, would you have a problem?" An irritated Tyler responds, "Yes, but I would have to swallow the pill." As the exchange between Tyler and Karlyn grows louder and more heated, Tyler snipes, "It's the most you talked the whole trip." When Karlyn responds, "I can't say what the hell I want to say," Tyler retorts, "Say something smart then." After the models leave with their tickets, Tyler sarcastically waves goodbye to the single mothers prompting James to reign in his partner, chastising, "Just leave it dude."

WAITING FOR NO ONE

Landing on a clear sunny morning in Mauritius, the six Teams run to their cars where they find a model boat. They need to figure out that the model is a replica of a real schooner anchored in the waters of Grand Baie 200 miles away. Teams will have to swim out to the boat to receive their next clue.

Making a bad decision to simply tear out of the airport without asking anyone where they're going, models Tyler & James quickly become lost as the other five Teams discover they need to drive to the north side of the island. Meanwhile, single moms Lyn & Karlyn don't feel the need to wait for their alliance members, now dubbed "the six-pack", rationalizing, "I don't think it makes any sense for us all to be behind."

BACKSTROKE BABY!

Pulling up along the clear blue water at Grand Baie together in first place, beauty queens Dustin & Kandice and dating couple Rob & Kimberly quickly shed their clothes and don bathing suits for their swim to the nearby schooner. With the six-pack nipping at their heels, only models Tyler & James, now stuck in island traffic, have yet arrive at Grand Baie. In a neck and neck race, Kimberly and Dustin set the pace arriving at the ship together, but both have to wait for their partners in order to collect their clues. Soon, Rob and Kandice arrive and the Teams head back with the clue in hand while members of the "six-pack" struggle to power through the choppy ocean waves. Arriving back at shore, Rob & Kimberly and Dustin & Kandice open their clue instructing them to drive 49 miles to the Case Noyale Post Office.

As the two Teams speed off together, brothers Erwin & Godwin return to shore but opt to wait for their alliance members still floundering in the water, using the time to find Case Noyale on the map. When models Tyler & James finally arrive at Grand Baie, they notice the Cho brothers waiting and later comment, "They're obviously aligning with the weaker Teams so they can take the stronger Teams out and take two weaker Teams to the final three." On the same subject, Godwin remarks, "A bitter and cynical person might think that we're keeping them around because they're quote unquote weaker than the other Teams, but if we stick together, we can be stronger than those who tend to fend for themselves only."

CRASH INTO ME

The drive to Case Noyale proves eventful for several Teams beginning with first place Dustin & Kandice. Growing weary of Rob & Kimberly tagging behind them, the beauty queens veer off on an alternate route leaving the confused dating couple behind. However, just as the beauty queens bask in the success of traveling solo, Dustin smashes their car into the back of a bus. Luckily, nobody is injured and the duo continues on unscathed. The abandoned Rob & Kimberly develop car troubles of their own when it stalls out allowing the "six-pack" to pass them by. Finally, Tyler grows impatient when James leads the Team in the wrong direction, sniping, "You never get it right." Later, James notes, "Sometimes Tyler gets a little snickity that I can't do my job navigating, but I know he's only doing it because he really wants me to do the best job possible."

SMOOTH SAILING

Arriving at the Case Noyale Post Office in first place, beauty queens Dustin & Kandice finds a Detour having to choose between Salt and Sea. In Salt, Teams have to drive two miles to a salt pan, the lynch pin of the country's economy. Once there, they need to search among three enormous piles of salt for a salt shaker that contains their next clue. In Sea, Teams walk down to a nearby dock, choose a boat captain, and take a boat two thirds of a mile to a small island. Once on land, they have to use a treasure map to search the island for their boat's mast and sail. After locating the mast and sail, they need to carry them back to the boat and attach them to receive their clue from the captain before returning to shore.

As the beauty queens set sail towards the island, the "six-pack" arrives at the Post Office and makes a group decision to head over to the salt pile after Mary's suggestion of sailing to the island is overruled. Models Tyler & James follow suit in their decision of Salt, leaving a now irritable Rob & Kimberly to decide while waiting for a car replacement. When the dating couple finally arrives at the Post Office, their bickering escalates as each accuses the other of "freaking out". Rob trips and falls when running back to the car to drive to the salt pan, prompting him to throw the clue into the car through the window in annoyance. Stunned Kimberly asks, "Did you really just throw that at me?" An incredulous Rob responds, "No, I just put it in the window. I didn't throw it at you."

LOST CAUSE

Arriving at the salt pan, the bickering Rob & Kimberly find the other four Teams, minus the beauty queens, searching through the seemingly endless piles of salt. To make matters worse, the Teams soon learn that some of the shakers contain pepper instead of their clue. Kimberly makes an executive decision for her Team to switch Detour options gambling that all four Teams couldn't find their clue before they locate the ship mast on the island. Also seeing the potential for futility, Tyler instructs a doubting James to cut their losses and head to the water instead. As the exodus from the salt pan continues, brothers Erwin & Godwin and single moms Lyn & Karlyn choose to leave while an obstinate David did not want to give in, leaving him and Mary alone searching for a shaker of salt. The worried brothers comment, "We'd like to keep our six-pack together. We need to hope for the best."

As coal miner and wife David & Mary finally relent and switch tasks, beauty queens Dustin & Kandice's search on the island proves fruitful as they stumble upon the ship's mast and sails. After delivering them to the captain, they open their clue instructing them to drive 12 miles to the Pit Stop at Chateau Bel Ombre. Returning on their boat, the beauty queens see Lyn & Karlyn who ignore them. Joking about the surly Karlyn, Dustin quips, "There's not a friendly bone in her. She needs to take her happy pills in the morning."

With Rob & Kimberly and Tyler & James successfully delivering their masts and sails, only the "six-pack" still remains on the island. Finding the masts together, the three Teams set sail back to their waiting vehicles still acting as a single group.

WINNERS AT LAST

Pulling into Chateau Bel Ombre, beauty queens Dustin & Kandice cheer as Phil delivers the good news that they have won motor scooters for their first place finish. Dustin remarks, "While it feels great to have won a leg finally, we're just going to take it one leg at a time and really bear down." Models Tyler & James snag second place and Rob & Kimberly, after making a wrong turn, settle for third place.

THE ALLIANCE SPLITS

As the "six-pack" nears the Pit Stop, differing strategies emerge from each Team in the alliance. Godwin comments, "We'll all probably run. I hope no one takes it personal. That's just the way it is." Mary notes, "When I get parked, I'm going to wait on the 'bama girls." Not returning the sentiment, Karlyn says, "I doubt if they'll wait for us to go to the Pit Stop. I wouldn't expect them to. I wouldn't wait for them."

Near the entrance to the chateau, David & Mary made a critical error as they make a wrong turn while their alliance partners Erwin & Godwin and Lyn & Karlyn drive to the right location to finish minutes ahead of the coal miner and wife. Stepping onto the mat in last place, David & Mary again receive the great news from Phil that this is a non-elimination leg. Mary comments, "This is the second time we've been marked for elimination so we have to come in first place. We understand that. We're not giving up. We can do that. The 'bamas and the Chos, they're good people. There's no doubt in my mind we've got an alliance to go to the final three."

Didn't Cletus and the Missus find the salt shaker with the clue in it, but not know what they had?

I was wondering that too. Jonny, did you see it happen?

I'm sticking up for the blondes, they are very nice to the natives they encounter and unlike other beautiful teams in the past (Kendra and Ken Doll) are not whiners. They are very competitve and the incident with the 'Bama team at the ticket counter was payback. I hope they keep going strong.

How can you defend two girls who ask where London is? Come on. The accents weren't that difficult. It wasn't as if they couldn't tell what he was saying.

I despise them. They are such bi***es. And I had such high hopes - not only as a all girl team, but also as blondes.

The girls weren't asking where London is, they were asking about Maritarius. The clerk at the Airport misunderstood.

I like the blondes. I really appreciate the fact that they seem to genuinely be having a good time during the race. The lack of bickering among them is especially refreshing.

I am totally sick of the rubes from Kentuck as well at the mom from Georgia with the talk to the hand attitude.

My apologies. I meant the single mom from Bama.

Me too! I'm pulling for the blondes. I used to be for the miners but somehow they jumped the shark last night. Maybe the second gift of nonelimination.

Wasn't it so funny when the host told them they won scooters. You could just see them think, scooters? Then when he said you can take a date and the one asked if she could take him and he froze. That was so funny.

I don't fault them so much for the London comment. I, too, would have thought THAT London? Incredible there was not a shorter route unless the show intervened and blocked out flights, etc.

That's not the way we understood it in our house.

That is the way we understood it in ours. However, we will listed again to the tape tonight. I really find it hard to believe that even so called "dumb blondes", would not know where London is located. Unless you are talking about London, Arkansas which is just outside of Russellvile.

Mary: "I would sacrifice this race for the friends I've made"

OK, that's it. I had been rooting for the Hillbillies but tonight was the last straw. She is always dragging them behind and when she just sat in the salt and did nothing but whine, that was the end. It was most disappointing Phil let them have yet another one last chance. It's down far enough that the Cho Bros need to cut their losses and start playing the game for themselves.

the girls have an accident and they still get there first?

That was indeed most curious. Sure, any foreigner would have this same good luck. Have a fender bender and the cops are there in a blink of an eye and merely have you sign the accident report and send you on your merry way within 15 seconds. Yep, sure, happens every day.

Phil seemed taken aback by the date offer from the beauty queen.

Hahahahaha!!! I bet he got a call from his wife about 3 seconds after that aired.

Like them, I was shocked they had to travel via London.

Since they didn't know where the island was, much less how to pronounce it, we were hoping someone would end up on the other side of the world. Too bad, bet the crew helped them out.
