It's Christmas time. People are on unusual schedules. The house is "out of order" with decorations etc.. I do believe John stalked them...but only for a very short time. It's the "when did he pick John Ramsey as the target" that is my big question.
Who once told Karr: "Don't try to grow a brain" or something similar??
Punctuation: Imagine someone writing a ransom note while being careful to punctuate properly. Not only that, but there are a lot of exclamation marks in that note....very similar to the yearbook pattern.
Sarcasm: Both the note and the yearbook contain sarcasm. In the yearbook: "Thanks for caring (unlike your loving sister)". Surely Tara's sister would read the note. That was his "get even" to her.
The note: "Don't try to grow a brain, John". Find out who said that to John Karr (or something similar), and you might have a connection. Sarcastic "rejection" statements.
Words: We all have our own "thing". I use a phrase that drives my kids nuts. My daughter refers to anything over 1 as "millions".
The yearbook: John writes: "Sometimes, so blurred by my own eyes, I've seen the best things come and go simultaneously".
After he was picked up, Suwart said the suspect described the encounter (murder) as a "blur".
This implies two things: Crying and/or "I'm trying to forget and can't.
His obsession mught just be that he thought he could bury the murder but it is torturing him. He talks about it as if it is an obsession. It is not. It's called a "conscience".
His research and correspondence is like going to a physciatrist. He can get it all out. Isn't that what shrinks do? One of his correspondence refers to what I believe is a book on Sexual Disorders.
I believe I heard someone say that this (growing a brain comment) was something that Patsy had said to John at least once before.
