I agree that this case is very unusual and there are lots of unanswered questions. Like:
How is it that matching DNA not belonging to a family member came to be under her finger nails and on her underwear on the same night that she just happened to be murdered?
My head is spinning. I had not read that part - about him saying he was trying to get her to say something. There is SO much information -- 10 years (and the internet) creates opportunity for so much stuff to appear - I am beginning to agree with those that think there will never be a complete resolution to this case, though I do hope otherwise.
Still not ringing a bell. I have the search warrant returns somewhere, so I'll look, but we've picked every single thing apart for so many years, I should've remembered this.
Is Karr saying he put some down there, or had some pix of her to use for his fantasy and left them there? OR, took some Polaroids while there? Ewwww.
That was in 1998 when Haney did the interviews in Broomfield. Let's see ... lots of Internet tips could've already come in by then.
Maybe they had the photos and maybe they didn't. If someone were trying to pretend this was a "hit" aimed at John, they would have to bring some photos to ID the intended target for kidnapping.
IF photos were found, that could be part of the staging.
I'm also thinking that Patsy had been down there a lot doing Christmas presents, to keep out of sight of the kids - she may have done other things down there, so as not to disturb the household at night.
I'm thinking she could've been filling out the application for that next pageant - Hawaiian Tropic - or even a later one, and had an array of JonBenet's portfolio composites there to choose the right head shots or others to send along.
Or maybe they were handouts she needed to take upstairs and put with JonBenet's pageant things she was packing. Didn't she make little name tags for some of her costumes, like the Marilyn Monroe one?
Did it have JonBenet's pic on it also? Like, would photos be kept down there with Patsy's art and hobby supplies for things like that? She could've told Haney or Demuth that ... or she could've left it open to speculation, heh.
Yeah, I know - but if Randy Simon had any connection to Karr, we would've heard about it by now.
In 1999, an unidentified person began corresponding with several people through the findagrave site. Eventually the person started claiming to be Mrs. Ramsey (but had not started out making such claims). The family eventually pubicly addressed these rumors and denied that Mrs. Ramsey was corresponding with anyone via Internet email. In late 1999, the person behind the mails disappeared after months.
One recipient has never publicly shared her emails because they are extremely distressing. She claims that they border on "criminal". According to several of the recipients who corresponded with "PR" during that time frame, they contacted the authorities in Boulder with their concerns, and were dismissed as being irrelevant.
After reading some of the emails sent in 1999, I'm beginning to believe Karr was the person responsible for the emails, especially because of the third-person responses, the intimate knowledge of certain details, the increasingly bizarre fixations, and certain references that sound eerily like statements he made when arrested, etc.
There were also reports of an unidentified man being seen at JBR's gravesite many times actually lying down on the gravesite itself and leaving gifts. According to what I read, this also was reported to the authorities yet they never followed up.
Do you know if the dozens of cryptic emails have been brought into any of the current investigation? Surely the prosecution would want to track down the origin of *now* considering they might help make the case.
In almost every case there at least 1 thing discover by police that is kept quiet and would only be known to the perp. If Karr is the one that did it he would try like crazy to find out this "thing" was out there on the net.
Do you remember the sniper shootings and how big of a story that was? It involved many investigators and some things they found were never leaked until they were caught. Yes I know that this has been 10 years and most would assume that everything is out there now, but I truly doubt it.

One of the recipients of the Patricia Letters is reporting on the case now. I'm sure she has turned hers over and may be the first to break any news related to that.
One says she won't unless they make her. What I don't know is who got the last one and/or the most devolved one, if it wasn't the last one.
Personally, I don't think Karr wrote them, because he would've gone into much more detail and more histrionics than were in the ones I ever saw.
They did put up surveillance cameras at the gravesite, but I can't recall the outcome - only that JAR was seen at least once there. No one was arrested or determined to have been acting suspiciously - however, it was just for a fairly short time period, IIRC.
It does make sense that Karr *could've* visited at times between 1996 and 2001. I feel certain the BDA is now looking through anything ATL-related or email related after her death, as far as tips.
Who knows - maybe the Tracey "alert" fed into a place where they had reached a brick wall in the Patricia Letters and put it aside long ago. Could be.
I mean in the past few days we would've heard about it.

OK, they found a framed "picture" of JonBenet and a framed picture of Burke and JonBenet as two of the items on the search warrant return.
They appeared in the list before and after the blue suitcase that had been in the train room and the broken window itself from that room. Usually that indicates the vicinity where found and that was in the basement.
I don't know anything about those pix right offhand and I'm just *assuming* pictures means photos, which it might not. They're not the children's drawings; those were listed separately.
Since they're framed, I think it's safe to assume they are photos. I wonder if they were supposed to be Christmas presents she was going to wrap.

No, I do not think the BDA would leak it. I'm talking about the reporters who are out digging now for anything at all.
The Boulderites would've rounded up the usual suspects and Simon would've been tops on the list, wherever he is, which I don't have any idea at all.
Those guys don't say "yeah, we're pedos together." They always have an up-and-up straight-arrow story already concocted for all scenarios. Like, "He had students who wanted to get into modeling and referred them to me for business." "My sister knows him from church in Atlanta." Stuff like that.
