For your bookmarking assistance, this is a reference list of links to the Aug 2006 or newer Free Republic threads on the topic of the JonBenet Ramsey murder case and the possible arrest of John Mark Karr as a suspect in her murder.
I still wish we had solid proof that he was in Boulder...
Do airlines keep records of passenger lists back 10 years?
I think there are really 4 key things to this case now:
1.) Is there any kind of DNA match to the scene?
2.) Was JMK in boulder that night?
3.) Was Burke Ramsey's voice really on the 911 tape?
4.) Is any information about the crime scene that JMK has truly privileged?
I think a definitive answer on any one of those would move the investigation much close to the culprit.
Perhaps not, but credit card companies do. This is why I think there is probably no record of JMK going to Boulder as this is something that LE could readily check.
despite what the MSM wants you to hear, the Ramseys were not subjected to very much scrutiny by the cops because the cops were not allowed to do it....the Ramseys had lawyered up and got a Public relations specialist in AFAIK and refused basic, individual interogations at the police station and only took LDT's years later and only under with their own LDT specialist...( as I read, the first test was inconclusive, and it was the second one that they submitted to the MSM)
the present DA in Boulder got her job basically because she lead the public to believe that she would work on the Ramsey case, but all she did was declare that it was probably an intruder...the questions about the parents were never fully answered....
now, do I think that loving parents, such as the Ramseys certainly were, would truss up their own dtr like what happened?......NO, I find it inconceivable......but if only they had cooperated more fully.....maybe this case would have been solved years ago....
Hamilton, AL (not Georgia - sorry)
There were probably 100's of strangers in Town because of Christmas including Southern folks who knew or worked for the Ramseys.
If you think John would stand out, forget it. He was a normal looking dude back then.
About the note: While it appears that when Karr wrote "Don't try to grow a brain, John" to John Ramsey, I have a feeling some "big deal with money and power" said it to John Karr at some point in time....and probably not that long before the murder....maybe a year.
I agree that he would have had to use alternate means. I was just pointing out that if they had such evidence we would have heard by now, so locating him in Boulder is going to be tough. If he used cash, travelled by car, or whatever, he's going to be hard to pin in Boulder.
I meant to say, if they had credit card evidence, we would probably know by now. It just tells me that it won't be easy to locate him in Boulder if he was using cash or whatever.
So, why do you think that statement is significant - the one about "growing a brain"? I had heard it was a line from a movie...
I just saw Carol McKinley reporting from Boulder on FNC, and she reported about the attempt to set the 2-yr old John on fire (at which time the mom was institutionalized, she said). Now isn't that impossible, if it's true that she treated him more like a girl than a boy when he was growing up...when would that have been?? Also, Carol said the mom passed away 6 yrs. ago. If you are correct it was in the early 80's, this is crazy that the media could be so far off on such info. I always respected Carol Mc as a reporter but now I don't know what to think.
Agreed. As I said, it's ironic that the Ramseys immediately surrounded themselves with the best legal representation and PR hacks money could buy, but this potentially deluded sad sack, Karr, has not had his Constitutional rights protected by legal representation until today.

What I find far more appalling is the fact that the Boulder authorites allowed the situation with Karr to become such a media circus. They should never have allowed this to become public until they nailed down whether or not he really could be the murderer. If necessary, they should have arranged private transportation, or bought up all the seats on that flight and kept the media off the plane.
The Boulder DA seems to want this guy convicted whether or not he actually committed the crime. If he did, he deserves everything that's coming to him. If he didn't, then this has already been a gross miscarriage of justice. Karr may be a sick, deluded man who wants to be a little girl, but unless he actually harmed anyone (other than himself), he does not deserve to be called a snake, nor to be exposed to public ridicule and hatred as he has been.
Having some kind of record like credit card info would be great news.
His picture was plastered all over the place to solicit any contrary evidence, pictures being one of those things.
Very few folks had date stamped pictures at that time. I had to buy a pretty decent camera to get that feature.
Tree: It was up a week before Christmas and a couple weeks after.
Wolf... have you seen his attorney interviewed today?
She claims that there is nothing wrong with Karr and that he is not insane, nor is he seeking out attention.
She also refused to comment when she was asked if she thought he did it. Remember she is his defense attorney.
Aren't defense attorney's suppose to say that their client is not guilty, lol??
