For your bookmarking assistance, this is a reference list of links to the Aug 2006 or newer Free Republic threads on the topic of the JonBenet Ramsey murder case and the possible arrest of John Mark Karr as a suspect in her murder.
JR stated, in gross detail, how he contemplated exhuming JBR's body to look at the stun gun wounds and decided not to. There are numerous examples. Most parents in such a situation would defer to someone else for those details.
The problem with all this is that rational people are trying to piece together an explanation for a series of actions and events that we can scarcely imagine. Add 10 years of dissembling to the mix and the death of major players in the drama and there is just too much that we can never really know for sure.
I'd say a brick is a good possibility as the item used for the blow. It's size and shape allows for the good control and tremendous force exhibited in the wound.
Perhaps he has been excluded from future testing along with his exhorbitant(sp?) fees.
DNA from a factory worker?? That's okay but it's more likely to be female not male.
I'm almost starting to think that Karr read their Christmas message...the one containing "and hence" because he used "a" instead of and after it. In other words, he didn't know how to use it properly. Besides, it doesn't really fit in properly with the rest of the dissertation.
What? John Ramsey would not give permisison to exhume the body and the stun gun theory didn't come about for several years.
I really don't care about any of that.

I see.
Let's just grab onto a "particular" that strikes us as strange or "off" somehow, as long as it hurts Patsy and NOW, since I brought up JR to show how suspicion shifted from him, as original perp/JonBenet molesting dad, to Patsy and/or Burke/Patsy, and let's presume the worst against, and hurt, BOTH parents.
I guess some people have ALWAYS done that, though.
I saw JR in tv interview footage in which both he and Lou Smit are absolutely adamant that a stun gun was used. He was so animated about it - and he doesn't seem like the easily animated type - so earnest, so convinced, that pursuing the stun gun angle would help official investigators find the perp.
Also in the same program, they said stun gun manufacturers didn't share the conclusions of Lou Smit and JR that the marks on her were from a stun gun.
There's no way I can know if that was a fair conclusion to draw. They didn't say how many stun gun manufacturers or experts said this, nor did they show any interviewed.
I concluded that Smit and JR are extremely frustrated because they are so convinced, and they want so badly to find JonBenet's killer.
Therefore, I will not pin guilt on JR for going into detail about it.
I remember Natalee Holloway's father, Dave, getting involved in the horrendous search of waters off of Aruba and a disgusting, sickening landfill there, just for a hint of a piece of his missing daughter.
Is HE guilty in Natalee's disappearance (death)??
I'm sorry, I've about had it with this. I can't stop it, I know; all I can do is stand up in protest to the extent that I can.
I say the latter because I am limited in time, as well as physical and emotional energy for it.
Not sure what the ransom note has to do with Twin Peaks - is that that freaky TV show from way back?
JonBenet went to High Peaks Elementary School.
I'm not sure if I heard it right and it might just be media "spin" since they have been excluded thanks to the wisdom of a judge who has already put a gag order on this.
Like you, I feel as though we just have to wait for more official information and we certainly can't simply trust "the news". But if charges aren't filed against Karr, I will want to know what is the official reason why. If there's truly exculpatory facts, such as they know he couldn't possibly have been there, I won't waste a second crying about it. The only thing that would bother me is, still no justice for JonBenet.
It was probably media spin. Theya re saying all sorts of stuff like that. Believe me, if the media had actually heard for sure that charges may not be filed it would be bigger news, not a guess by a TV journalist.
In that vein, I did a quick check of the news networks and didn't see anything. It certainly isn't "breaking"...even as a mere possibility. You're right, it would be all over everywhere. Tiny chance it is from some "inside" source connected to a blog or something where the media can't really check its authenticity. Most likely speculation disguised as news, but we shall soon find out.
"Disguised as news"......I like that!!
Thanks. So much of what we see and hear seems to fit that description.
I'm on the same channel and they just said he would make his first appearance in court this AM. What a difference a half hour makes.
They've been saying that all morning on the channels I've seen. Not saying much about it, though, as the storm Ernesto and the anniversary of Katrina, etc. are getting the most coverage. And the plane crash.
Do you know? If they know they won't file charges, would there be a court hearing? Or wouldn't he just be released from jail and the DA hold a press conference to explain?
Only other possibility that comes to mind: they could charge him for obstructing justice and interfering with an investigation by making a false confession, or they could send him back to CA to face child porn charges there.
Here's what I just heard, on MSNBC...one of their regular legal experts just said there has been speculation, nothing confirmed yet, that IF there is no matching DNA in this case, the DA will decide not to file charges. It was Susan Filan who said it.
I think that was the basis for what you heard. Speculation all weekend from people talking to each other behind the scenes, that IF no DNA match, then no charges.
They don't know that their isn't a match; they don't know that if their isn't, no charges will be filed. They are speculating about what the DA will do if there's no DNA match. That's it.
