I had posted yesterday lots of back links to the TV interview transcripts this week, but that was filler because of the modified gag order that went into effect and my anticipating not much coverage for a while.

Yes - actually yesterday was the first time I had seen much of the PR writing at all. I went searching for anything I could find and was amazed at the amount of stuff that was out there. I agree with your "stunning" analysis.

I'm not a handwriting expert but looking at the comparisons, especially the left hand sample, I can't find any substantive differences at all. They look identical. The only difference, perhaps, is that the ransom note looks a little more 'nervous' than the sample provided by PR.

Break in JonBenét case
Months before Karr's deportation, the Boulder District Attorney's office received copies of the suspect's emails from University of Colorado journalism professor Michael Tracey, who received the emails from a person with the email address "December251996 at yahoo.com". December 25, 1996, was the date of JonBenét's murder. At least one of the emails was signed with the signature "Daxis". The tracking of the author began sometime in June 2006.[41]
Armed with the email address and Internet provider, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) determined the general location of the suspect in Thung Maha Mek, a neighborhood in Bangkok, Thailand. At the time, the suspect's name was not known.[41]
The break in the case came when Karr sent an envelope to Tracey by regular mail with a return address bearing the name of a major throughfare in Bangkok, Thailand, but no number or cross street.[41] Tracey sent Karr another kind of mail – a photograph delivered to a Thai post office box. Agents arranged a controlled delivery and were ready to spot their suspect. The man who arrived to pick up the mail delivery was using a 21-speed bicycle, the purchase of which was mentioned in e-mails sent by the suspect. The agents followed Karr to his residence and learned his name.[42]
On August 11, 2006, they notified ICE officials, and from that point on, Karr was placed under surveillance by Thai immigration officials.[41] A sealed arrest warrant, signed by Boulder County District Judge Roxanne Bailin,[43] was sent by the Boulder District Attorney's office to officials in Thailand on August 15, 2006. The next day, upon receipt of the warrant, Thai immigration authorities revoked Karr's visa.[41]
Right...the only thing that gives me just a tad bit of pause on this part is this: If I think I am being accused of writing the RN and am asked to provide samples to the police and let's assume I did actually write the RN...I am pretty sure I could fudge a little on the samples so it wouldn't look the same - even with my non dominant hand...I don't know - wouldn't ya think?? Maybe she just didn't think of that?

That's exactly what I was thinking. I'm amazed that someone would do that and NOT expect a handwriting match to be made later. But, for the sake of discussion, let's say PR is culpable. Then we can see several mistakes on her part:
1.) wearing clothing that witnesses had seen her wearing the evening before while tying the ligature together
2.) using a swiss army knife when she didn't know how it got where it was
3.) leaving the pineapple and tea glass on the table and not cleaning it up
4.) not accounting for the pineapple that would appear in JBR's system at autopsy
5.) The numerous mistakes in the RN itself indicating this was NOT really a kidnapping
6.) leaving underwear on JBR that was size 12
7.) wiping fingerprints from the flashlight which was NOT necessary
8.) leaving a chair in the hallway in the basement and the lights on; indicating activity in the basement which an innocent parent would have noticed if caused by an intruder
9.) placing tape on the child's mouth AFTER she expired
10.) not cleaning up urine on the floor outside the cellar room; indicating place of death of JBR
11.) leaving sheets in dryer in basement which should have been put BACK on JBR's bed
12.) violating the victim with a paintbrush, indicating possibility of deception by perpetrator
13.) showing TOO much interest in gory details of her daughters death afterward; most innocent parents would never talk about such things publicly
14.) latching the 'secret' lock on the cellar room door which an intruder would arguable not know of
15.) claiming that the doors to the house were locked that night; forcing explanation for intruder ingress via a basement window that would almost certainly have left fiber or other evidence
16.) leaving JBR's room in same disarray that it actually was in that night - indicated that death did not occur there b/c if it had it would have been straightened up. If promoting intruder theory, deceiver would be best served by altering disarray to support that view. In contrast, disarray we see is random. For deception purposes, the best thing to do would have been to straighten the room up.
17.) not changing clothes before witnesses arrived at her house
The list could go on as the mountain of forensics and physical evidence is substantial, but the thing I noticed here is that IF PR was involved, this shows a pattern of unsophisticated criminal behavior. I'm guessing that's all the 'un-fudged' RN was, just yet another error in the larger plan.

Deceiver is best served by straightening room up b/c adding evidence of intruder tampering with room increases imponderables that could point to deception. Straightening room up leaves detective w/ no useful information.

Not sure where you got #13 - neither of the Ramseys showed any interest at all in how she died or why, which caused most of the suspicion by so many people.
The sexual assault was not discussed by them with police until three years later, when LE made them listen to the findings.
Also, note that each item wiped clean of fingerprints and of material relevance in the case is a point of deception. The deceiver in this hypothetical is revealing which parts of the scene they are trying to distort. It's very telling.

The logic of deception is tricky and I think it is why perps often screw that up.
