Charles Darwin should share with Hitler the blame for the 11 million or more lives lost in the Holocaust, a new television special explains. And, the program says, the more than 45 million American lives lost to abortion also can be blamed on that famous founder of evolutionary theory.

First, Darwin did not coin this phrase, and as a matter of fact, hated it.

Second, the phrase, when properly understood, refers to a given environment. What is most fit in one environment can be least fit in another.

Moreover, the idea that most fit refers to a characteristic of brains reflects the biases of the reader. Fitness can be the result of any combination of characteristics that allow an organism to reproduce most successfully in a given environment.

Didn't work, did it? That's the sort of thing that happens when you misapply a scientific theory. The entire premise of this nonsensical article and film is ridiculous.

The Theory of Evolution has to do only with the evolution of new species from other species. To apply it to social structures is patently incorrect.

Yet, this author and filmmaker doesn't even understand that Hitler had nothing whatever to do with the Theory of Evolution. He was simply another megalomaniacal racist creep...one of many who have existed on this planet through history.

He's dead, Jim. He didn't survive. He had nothing to do with the Theory of Evolution. Case closed.

If you truly believe in evolution, it would be logical that some races or ethnic groups would be superior to others in certain ways, especially in intelligence. This is particularly so after a million years or so have passed by since man allegedly evolved.

However, a mere belief in superiority of certain groups or races is far different than what Hitler did in advocating murder of allegedly "inferior" types.
