Arrest in JonBenet Ramsey Case Expected "Shortly"

An arrest in the JonBenet Ramsey case is due to happen "shortly," according to sources in our newsroom -- I know I can't post the link to our site (we're a Gannett station, and despite the "ban", I would welcome the traffic), but most of you know where I work and what the site is...

According to our sister station in Denver, an arrest took place early this morning in Thailand.

The Fox News report stating that the suspect's family will declare that the suspect spent all Christmas with them was very brief.

That one is 15-years-old on his MySpace page. But he's John Mark Karr II. Maybe "II" because elder Karr doesn't have children of his own and this 15-yr-old is his nephew?

Younger one not born in CA. I did have info on that one Petaluma - born in Alabama. Hamilton, AL, to be precise. Has also lived in San Jose. No Conyers at all, but Atlanta, yes.

Someone in Boulder, CO needs to dash to the library and go through the City Directories. They keep them in the back. You can look up by name, I doubt that he is there, but also get the names of the people across the street, (there is a section of who lived in which house), and see if there is a connection to one of those people.

Why unbelievable? That i'm skeptical? I hope in subsequent days that as more information is released that i will be convinced they got the right guy. But at this point merely having a confession doesn't convince me and as to the details he has given that supposedly only the killer and those working on the case would have known, i'm simply waiting to see if that is truly accurate (that it was a closely held secret) and even if so whether he could have somehow gotten ahold of this info. In other words, that perhaps these details weren't as tightly guarded as we are led to believe and that someone obsessed with the case might have stumbled upon a few of them.

OR, that Karr knew the person who killed JonBenet and was given details right from the horse's mouth, so to speak. Of course that wouldn't explain what I heard earlier...and that was that they had a DNA match to this guy. The story may twist and turn yet.

Weird, as I just heard on CNN that his DNA matched DNA at the Ramsey house. Of course, I also heard earlier today some woman had Vaseline, matches, a screwdriver and an Al Queda note on a plane that was diverted, escorted by fighter pilots and dog sniffed, only to find out she just had an anxiety attack.

I remember an interview, maybe the first one they gave. John Ramsey said [paraphrase] "I just buried one daughter and people think I would put myself through that again?"

It broke my heart and there was no way he could have faked what I saw in him. I knew if he thought Patsy had anything to do with it, they would not be sitting there together.
