Indy star Danica Patrick has hinted lately that she might be willing to give NASCAR a try. Although I believe the hints are nothing more than her gaining a little leverage as her contract with Letterman/Rahal expires at season's end, I'm still going to offer her a little advice.
Stay where you are, Danica. The Indy Racing League needs you.

Why? She has nothing left to prove in IRL... Yep. Very similar to Michelle Wie and the LPGA.

David Climer, a sportswriter for The Nashville Tennessean, who often makes snide, sarcastic comments about the whole motor racing scene, is nevertheless smitten with Ms. Patrick.
Climer has written glowing daily columns about Danica all week, leading up to the Nashville IRL race this weekend. It's as though the whole Danica phenomenon is making a mockery of automobile racing, and David Climer is only too happy to chronicle it.

"I don't feel insecure about being girlie," says Patrick. "I do as much media as I can because I want this IRL series to be so kick-butt that NASCAR goes, 'Huh?'"

Danica needs to stay out of NASCAR! She would get all the publicity and the other drivers - both those I like and dislike - would be ignored by the media.
If she really wants a career in racing and NOT modeling (which she appears to do more of) then I suggest she move into drag racing.

"Danica, NASCAR isn't for you. About 40 percent of NASCAR's audience is women and a lot of those are women from the South. They don't mind their husbands pulling for Tony Stewart or Jeff Gordon, but when they start pulling for somebody who runs 25th every week that would be a little transparent."
Rich cultural heritage.

NASCAR isn't even NASCAR anymore. It's supposed to be STOCK CAR racing. It's more like the vigramass million dollar car racing association now and it's anyone's guess what cars these guys drive. Who wants NASCAR to be all People Mag-i-fied which is what will happen when the 'car hood ho' Danica joins.
