The Hobbit Hole XXX - Then world behind and home ahead...
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 06/28/2006 10:14:11 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Then world behind and home ahead

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

No - I was talking about the Black and Decker.

Ya ought to come get the electric one we have and try it. (whenever you want to) I bet you can reach most places with it.

Morning ALL - same here. fireworks were quite reasonable last night and they settled down just after 10. Gypsy didn't even go under the desk.

Nayber across the street decided to hold down the drinking and explosions, so there is that. The neybers next door had a 'hugh' pile of them on the front porch. They said they were going to shoot some tonight and the rest at the relative's place tonight, works for us.

Howsumever, we're fairly certain tha 'others' will be taking their place tonight.

Sorry if I missed anyone on the pingages...

I'm at Panera with an iffy (at best) connection. Comcast Internet is out at home. An hour on the phone with them didn't help. They're sending a technician out tomorrow (must be one of them communists to come on the 4th).

We're heading to Busch Gardens for the day. Jr. is working (that sounds suh nice...)

I'll likely not be back on until tomorrow evening or Wednesday a.m. See y'all then.

Oh, and...

Happy Birthday SuziQ!

and

God Bless America!

Good Morning Corin, heard a local commentator saying we should celebrate the 4th on the 2nd since that is the day the Continental Congress passed the Declaration of Independence, it was published on the 4th of July so that is the day that stuck in people's memories.

OB took the day off and is getting ready to start ripping up the downstairs bathroom floor. I'm going to go seal the tile upstair and then start ironing. I've got one load of wash ready for the dryer, and need to put another one in the washer. I need a vacation

Not far behind ya...

We'll mostly be working in an empty building today. Could be kinda fun. The folks we moved last week are out today, so we're going through finalizing network settings and making sure all PCs are working OK before their first business day on Wednesday.

The saying back home was that corn should be "knee-high by the fourth of July" - I think mine's *just* on track, if only just.

Can't wait for veggies! I've already got lettuce and herbs, but tomatoes will be next. I have some little tiny ones on the plants now.
