Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Then world behind and home ahead
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Yeah, we're planning another trip to Fred Meyer.
The girls dragged all of the empty boxes downstairs yesterday, so we need to tear those up and get them in the recycle bin.
Maybe it won't be so warm today??

Yup. We have a pretty nice setup for our computers.
I'll be ordering the desks on Monday to get the "office" set up, but at least we can sit next to each other and FReep now. :-)

Maybe it won't be so warm today??Heh...now you're gettin' in the Washington spirit! ;-)
I think it's supposed to be in the low 80s. Not as bad as the one day it was up in the nineties, but I'm hoping to get my running around errands done early...and possibly wait until late-ish to mow. It cools down quickly, at least, as I keep sayin'.

It's a beautiful, beautiful day here. It's only gonna get nicer :-D

The one thing I noticed is that no matter how warm it gets here, there's almost always a cool breeze.
And staying in the shade actually makes a difference, unlike Florida.

I found where they lopped off two flower stalks from the daylillies. In the old "pride goeth before the fall" mode, I was feeling rather smug that MY bunnies were leaving the coneflowers alone. Until yesterday, when I saw that the new "specialty" coneflower, a dwarf species, had about half the flowers chewed off, about "Blaze" height. Interestly enough, the asiatic lily stalks were also chewed off, 9" above the ground. They had finished blooming so it was no great loss, but I found it rather odd. Much taller than Blaze, so she didn't do that particular damage. LSA

I know how you feel, chica. ~sigh~
It's hard enough to be patient. It's worse when someone keeps moving the goal post!

G'morning!
Got my first project of the day finished. Finally cleaned up and organized my desk... filed a few months worth of bills, receipts and misc. Now I get to go to ~town~ for some groceries. :-\

I put the cut off stalks (they have 10 unopened buds between them) in a vase with water. With any luck, the buds will open.
Fried rabbit sounds good for supper...

And I'm headed out to mow pasture before it gets hotter :~)
To: Overtaxed
Waskily Wabbits - sorry bout that.
Blaze was grazing in the back yard this morning and in the side yard last night. She's a little rabbit, doesn't seem to have grown much, maybe she's a hobbit-sized rabbit.
To: HairOfTheDog
I should do the same with my back yard. *sigh* Almost out of gas, so I have to not only fill the mower, but fill the gas can as well. Ungh.
Then I'm gonna set up my fan and try it out, and have some iced coffee and listen to some of my CDs from the library.
To: RosieCotton
That sounds like a good plan. I was about to head out, when my stomach reminded me I haven't had breakfast yet. :~)

[shudder] my feetses never smelled till I wore the Shoooeeess...
