de nada. (If you're going to live in San Antonio, you'll have learn a little Spanish lingo, assuming you don't already speak it. de nada means literally "of nothing" but can be thought of as "it's nothing".
The long time/mulit-generation Hispanics often speak a sort of Spanglish. A few words of Spanish thrown into what is otherwise English, just for emphasis. And to irritate us Gringos.. sometimes. :) Actually San Antonio is the friendliest *city* I've ever been in. Even when one is a member of a minority group (in my case "gringo". :)

just type in "Bexar" under search criteria....
Think: Leftist and hot.
And your point is.... what?
182 men holding off one of the premiere armies in the world for nearly a month while outgunned, undersupplied, vastly outnumbered, and then taking ten times their number with them by the time they were killed is worth remembering.
If you have a problem with that, go whine to someone else.
New Braunfels is nice

Depending on where you would work in SA both are about a 25 minute commute and have great schools.
I have lived in this area most of my life and choose to live outside of SA and always know its there
LOL!!
Go Spurs Go
I just moved here a little over three years ago, so I don't know if I'll be much help. I live on the west-northwest side of town, and I'm pretty happy. Decent school, close to work, reasonable housing costs. There's no state income tax in Texas (yay), but property taxes are high. Sales tax in Bexar County is 8.125%. You can get honest-to-goodness sweet tea in about half of the restaurants, although as a Maine-iac that may not be so important. You can't throw a rock without hitting a mom-and-pop Mexican place, a Bill Miller barbecue, or a Valero gas station.
Many have called San Antonio the world's largest small town, and I can see what they mean. Despite over 1.2 million people (now the seventh largest city in the nation), most of the city feels pretty homey. Also, as long as you don't want to go anywhere around rush hour, you can get from one side of town to the other in less than half an hour.
