The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

I am going to ride with the group of ladies I usually ride with, a weekend ride on a ranch that is right on the Rio Grande, at the end of this month. I guess we are going to ride through the river and right over into Mexico.

Hmmmmm.

I will have pictures. If we end up in a Mexican jail I will let you-all know and you can raise my bail. :^)

Just things not working right, day after day can get on your nerves. I can tolerate severe pain for short periods but the nagging on and on stuff sets me on edge. He's got to be tired.

Thanks. I turn over the keys Monday so I have to get all my reports ready this weekend. Then I go to 20 hours a week. I'm really ready. My horses and my house are too:'(

Well, it's not his usual routine and he certainly isn't getting the work he's used to.

Hopefully the cast change will change his attitude. It may have been rubbing him funny.

Well, I figured we may not have time to go on a ride before you get here, but the horses should exercise every day till they get their heart rate up and some sweat going, so we chased them in the pasture a bit this evening. Here are some random shots of that :~)

They started off slow, been standing around bored all day :~)

I always catch these clashes the moment before, or the moment after the pony fires at him :~\

Nice extended trot on a horse whose heels don't hurt, I'd think.

That's it for now... all that's happening here today. Oh - Except we got the barn clean too :~)

No - she didn't. Didn't hear back from her on whether she thought buting was needed or a good idea. She might have her own plan!

Yeah I do too. She's a great horse, and might be at that age where she can't go and bounce back like she could 5 years ago.

- Tiff is only in the office short periods - she spends a lot of time out on the road. So I don't even know for sure she got my last message.
