It's so. A little silver bb stud lower left lip. Could be a lot worse, I suppose.

sssssigh. Oh, well. Guess the only thing you can do now is maybe a little advance investigation with dermatologist and plastic surgeons on how best to close up the place. Surely, one day she'll regret her impulse and want to correct the damage.

That is what makes so many things perfectly hilarious -- her being used as the poster girl for the 72 virgins especially. Picking on Tony Snow like that, for another.

I miss alot of things..... Makes me post very carefully....

Hi Westy,

I see you have been posting a bit sparsely over the past week, how are things holding up?

LOL. Well, yes, clearly all these murdering freaks are unaware that it isn't 72 virgins waiting on the other side, its one 72 yr old virgin... Helen. LOL

If it wasn't so tragic it would be hilarious, a comedy akin to the 'Springtime for Hitler' by Mel Brooks. Al Qaeda blows up Sunni Mosque, blames Shiites, Al Qaeda blows up Shiite Mosque, blames Sunnis, Al Quaeda blows up mini van of day laborers, blames government for not protecting Sunnis and Shia. Helen and the rest at the NYT fully agree with Al Qaeda.

The bombers all go fully expecting 72 virgins. What? Pigs? I'm sure America butchers quite a few virgin pigs for them to all go to hog heaven.

Lebanon, how far behind Rhodesia / Zimbabwe I wonder?

Have you been on Clive's ping list to see the latest from Cathy Buckle? She is another one who was so desperate to see the end of Ian Smith and the rise of Mugabe, she still artfully documents the horrific conditions of living in a country without food or viable money, then laments Mugabe won't pay attention to his people.

Hi Darlin, all. I'm around..and still surviving the packing, etc.

Have been resting a bit since Tues. I had my first court appearance that day, and after climbing the court steps, going thru the metal detector and getting settled in for the "conditioning" and video's, etc, I started to get some Angina pains. I let it go, and finally after all the lessons in good citizenship and videos, we went up three flights to the courtroom for our further selection. The judge informed us that the trial could go on for three weeks, and the defendant was being his own council. Whoopi, fri**in, doo, that just added to my day, let me tell ya.

I began to realize that both Al and I would be tied to this thing almost right up to the day we signed papers. Who was going to pack, clean and do all the things you have to do to clear a house for selling and then get all the other things done to move us.

I guess I got panicky and started in with more chest and arm pains, and I had to make up my mind to face the judge when it came time. I did first thing, and I got off the trial, but I'm still tied up with it all until the middle of Aug. I think I have three more call in dates until it's all over. Hopefully, out of 300 people, my number may not be called again, but there is no guarantee.

There is no way out of it, so poor Al who could be home if I get chosen again, will instead have to spend four hours on the road every day to take me to the capital in Concord and then come and get me again at the end of the day.

I'm a bit depressed about it all, and it's taking the joy of moving right out of me. You know..they could make the cutoff a little lower than 70 years old.. It is a hardship for older people to make that long a trip and for such a long period of time, and I guess we are just on the cusp for distance. The court girls suggestion, stay overnight in a hotel for the duration of any trial. Riiight.. good one, that will fix everything. Three weeks in a hotel would have cured all our woes all right.. sheesh.. Our government at work.

Of course I get paid...lol, and we get our tolls of $2.00 a day back...but somehow that isn't compensating right now for all this aggravation..:(
Anyway, enough b!tchin from me, but that's what's been going on. I just wish I was able to have a Blue Thingy like Libby to calm my nerves...but even a nice stiff drink is no longer on the menu...groaan...:)

Goodness Gracious, gran ! Thats terrible. Did you know you can get dismissed from Jury Duty with a letter from your doctor? I know you want to honor your civic responsibility but not if it jeopardizes your health.

No I haven't been on that thread but I'm not s'sure I have enough hours in my day to concern myself with another crisis. Apart from all the terrorism threats, Iraq, Iran, No Korea, the UN, democrats, etc, I live in Louisiana where every day I'm awash in crisis. LOL

Odd are, you won't get called back, but if you do just get the letter and take it to the judge or the office that sent out the notices, down here its called the Clerk of Court. Surely, no one, not Judge, DA or defense atty would seat a juror at risk of becoming ill and unable to finish the trial.

CO is also MIA. She was to have hip replacement surgery on 4 July and anticipated having lots of time online while recuperating but its been more that 2 weeks since her surgery and no CO.

I had five days after getting my intitial notice to get a Dr's note if I needed one. Of course that was right when I got home from FL. I was in between Dr's at the time, and I didn't have any plans for moving at that time either, so the extra stress wasn't even considered.

It's too late now for any Dr's note, and I'm stuck with what I have. That's the rules in ol' NH. Will just have to hope for the best, and try to get out of this funk I'm in...;)
