We are downsizing. This house has a lot less room in it square foot wise. Plus it has way less yard work for Al, which was our main thing. No more sprinklers, not much garden work...all perennials for both of us, and no painting because it's all vinyl with new easy clean windows. So, all in all it will be much easier for us to keep up. Even the pool is mostly self-cleaning.
We will settle for the upstairs downstairs for the other features.

That is a nice setup, Gran.
Lots of sitting spots / conversation places in that layout.
I take it, it came furnished? Or are those things you hastily moved in?
You have enough there to run a bed & breakfast.
cheers.

Gran,
If you are looking for minimal upkeep, for those bare, grey wood railings, put some linseed oil (straight boiled linseed oil) on them with a sprayer or a brush. It will dry into a leather like surface on them, and keep the rustic look. Try just a pint on an out-of-the-way place with a disposable brush to see the effect. I have a fence with just linseed-oil for the preservative and it stops the wood from deteriorating any further, really.

Oh no, that is all the owners furniture. Ours won't be nearly that nice. :( Ours has had a lot of kids romping on it..but it will do. May have to buy a new bedroom set, but that's all we're thinking of at the moment.
We have a lot of mis-matched and old stuff, and a lot of stuff that will just need dumping.

Yes, that wood is not in good shape at all..but I'm sure Al will get to it. Heck, he has to have something to do..lol.
That new plastic stuff is great too. Like they say...Vinyl is final. ;)I'll tell him about the linseed oil. That should get us into next summer. Remember when we all used Creosote? No wonder we're all nuts...;)

You actually watched the spectacle of two Euro trash countries running after a ball and kicking each other?
I heard it was a nice head butt though.......
