WASHINGTON, May 31 After vowing to steer a greater share of antiterrorism money to the highest-risk communities, Department of Homeland Security officials on Wednesday announced 2006 grants that slashed money for New York and Washington 40 percent, while other cities including Omaha and Louisville, Ky., got a surge of new dollars.
Homeland security officials said the grants were a result of a more sophisticated evaluation process

one of the problems with dressing up as a Reb is the fact that they really didn't have much uniformity of gear.
case in point, most folks think of the Rebs as being uniformed in gray suits.
no (as I am certain you know).
most of them were in homespun and butternut, and not at all a "uniform" as such - just (hopefully) sturdy clothes with a couple of deep pockets for ammo and sundries.

as best i remember it (i held it in my hand OVER 15 YEARS ago!), it had WOODEN grips.
his was "locally procured", read: blacksmith made. only part, maybe half, of the scabbard was intact.
