Guy, don't be a bigot. Your opinions, while yours, are not necessarily the right ones for the rest of us, and there are other threads on the forum to post them. Please be considerate of others here.

Hi, fanfan! How're things? Cooling off soon? Not until the day after tomorrow. ;-)
OTOH, we are trying to BBQ dinner, and it's pouring rain outside.
Has the heat let up there?

It's not a hard gig.
I see a dark and handsome man in your future...
he is telling you that he can fix your fuel pump for only $500.00

There is nothing on TV, the book I brought is a disappointment and so the members of the UT have been keeping me entertained while my co-workers are at the casino. Glad to have been of service, milady.

There's always the one who mistook the gas pedal for the brake. Not this kid. He was drunk. He had borrowed his uncle's car without permission, went drinking with his friends at the reservoir to pre-celebrate his 18th birthday, totaled his uncle's 57 Chev when he slammed it into my car... and got to celebrate his 18th in jail.

When considering it could have been emotional, there are countless possible causes.

Thank goodness that tomorrow I will be going back home.

Ugh. Hot and high humidity, it sounds like. I do not like that at all...
But BBQ in the rain, hey, we're pros at that here in Seattle. You can tell how the barbecue is by the way the rain sizzles when it hits. *\;-)
The heat wave broke here on Saturday. Which was a great thing, because we were going to go to the big PNW Scottish Highland Games Saturday. Usually it's not pleasant: bright sun, lots of heat, very unScottish! I left the kilt home this time -- shorts & ("Got Haggis?") t-shirt, plenty of SPF 50, hat, etc... and it was so pleasantly overcast and cool I was almost shivering at times. Nice.

There are links on FR now to stories of his anti-Bush war stuff around the end of last year, so it sounds more like he was drunk speaking what was in his heart.
I am leaning a lot more towards believing that as I read about other things he said while sober.
I think he is a good entertainer though.

How about you? You were okay, I hope. It's good the kide spent his bday in jail. Woudn'ta happened in MA. No, I wasn't okay. I got a case of whiplash (this was actually 35 years ago, and the car didn't have headrests -- it didn't even have seatbelts until the previous week when I installed them). A year of headaches, months with a (foam) neckbrace, and really touchy about my neck for a while after that.
The kid? He didn't call his uncle, or anybody else. Three days later his uncle called the police to make a missing persons report -- and learned the nephew wasn't missing at all!
He didn't get his license again until he turned 21.

The best thing about it is that if you make enough general statements and don't mention a time frame you can claim to have "foreseen" just about anything.
