WASHINGTON, May 31 After vowing to steer a greater share of antiterrorism money to the highest-risk communities, Department of Homeland Security officials on Wednesday announced 2006 grants that slashed money for New York and Washington 40 percent, while other cities including Omaha and Louisville, Ky., got a surge of new dollars.
Homeland security officials said the grants were a result of a more sophisticated evaluation process

I haven't had much luck writing songs. Even when I try.

I've written a small group of religious songs based on traditional celtic tunes...don't know how good they are but I like'em.

I love sharing the joy!

from the blanket to the shore,
from the shore to the water,

Religious songs = Deathless prose
I skipped that category. I don't want lightning to strike.

This isn't exactly a religious song, but it does have a bit of energy. Almost two years ago!

Graphic from St.Louie1
How to be Uppity
Jump up at the crack of dawn, and jump into your pants,
Shake out the wrinkles and your sleep with a merry wake-up dance.
Zip up your trousers with a smile, and with a bit of care.
Your uppity ability must need be guarded there.
Sunny up your breakfast and then just shake a leg or two,
The world outside is waiting to be shaken up by you.
Be up for all the downers who have come to plague your life,
And dont forget to save some up to please your loving wife.

"... how many stories is safe?" Actually, almost any distance would probably be safe for a healthy adult who knew how to slide down a pole. At .34 gravities you won't pick up too much speed.
I can't really think of a place where we would need it, though.

I'd forgotten about that poem. I did look at the graphic a week or so ago but didn't post it.
Thanks for the ping, NnB.

You are right that we don't need it. After all we have the banister in the great hall to slide down.
That is not to say that having it would not be a great deal of fun.

For anyone who is really into adventure, joining the canopy repair crew is an option.
If we are struck by a meteorite, our repair crew rushes into action to save our precious air.
They scramble up the rigging in special vehicles designed like monorail cars. They then have to remove and replace the panels of glazing material.
Originally we had built a glass factory for the purpose. We switched over to Alumnum Oxy-Nitride when that proved to be superior.
I mention this work because one of the dangers the crew faces is the possibility of falling. They are equipped with special emergency glide suits that allow them to "fly" to a safe landing.
Our "rainfall" crew faces a similar problem, but their suits are better insulated against the intrusion of dampness and cold.
And I won't go into what our exterior crew has to face!
