WASHINGTON, May 31 — After vowing to steer a greater share of antiterrorism money to the highest-risk communities, Department of Homeland Security officials on Wednesday announced 2006 grants that slashed money for New York and Washington 40 percent, while other cities including Omaha and Louisville, Ky., got a surge of new dollars.
Homeland security officials said the grants were a result of a more sophisticated evaluation process

Two golfers walked into the clubhouse after finishing a round. They spotted a friend, and walked over to say hi.
“How’s everything, John?” One of them asked.
“Oh, not too bad.” John managed to croak out in a painfully hoarse voice.
“My God, John! What the heck happened to your voice?”
“I was playing hole eleven on the back nine, near the cow pasture. I hit it bad, and it went over with the cows. So I crawled over the fence to look for it. I wasn’t the only one having trouble, either. I met a couple of ladies over there looking for a lost ball too.”
He paused to take a sip of his drink.
“Well, we looked and looked. The grass is pretty high there, and the cows were just laying about wherever they wanted to. Just on a hunch, I walked up to one cow and raised up her tail. Sure enough, there was a ball lying there.”
John shook his head morosely. “I could tell from the ball markings that it wasn’t mine, so I turned to one of the ladies and asked her, ‘Does this look like yours?’”
“That’s when she hit me in the neck with a nine-iron!” He croaked.

LOL!
Is it hot enough for you?
I just came in from outside where it was definitely hot enough for me. and it's only about 95. But a bit muggy.
If it's not, I suggest moving to Palm Springs. 113 or 118 while my hubby was there last week with nights around 95-97.
Lord help me. I went out to buy a ram stick for my computer, and ended up buying that, a graphics program and a digital camera.
Everything was on sale....
