WASHINGTON, May 31 After vowing to steer a greater share of antiterrorism money to the highest-risk communities, Department of Homeland Security officials on Wednesday announced 2006 grants that slashed money for New York and Washington 40 percent, while other cities including Omaha and Louisville, Ky., got a surge of new dollars.
Homeland security officials said the grants were a result of a more sophisticated evaluation process

""I have a novel and a screenplay (based upon the novel)""
Peter Benchley had a screenplay he couldn't sell, so he wrote a novel based on the screenplay. It became a bestseller, and he touted the screenplay as "based on the bestseller" : )
Jaws.

I think my screenplay will sell better than the novel will. There is a lot of contemporary imagery stuff in the movie that the novel can't quite capture. It has "indie film" written all over it. In any case, it's an interesting story--and I say that not to be self-promoting.

True story. Same held true for The Exorcist. Screenplay written before the novel. Screenplay didn't sell. Wrote novel. Novel bestseller. Movie touted as based on the bestseller : )
G'night nmb.

Plus, the soundtrack and score (which I've prepared myself) is awesome!

If you haven't done so, register your intellectual property with Writers Guild of America. They keep a certified copy of your script in storage, and this will protect you against theft. Hollywood is a whore : )

I'm not Danny DeVito, so don't make me get medieval on you.
Yes, it's true. I've written and composed music for years. I love to write and have recently been attracted to the art of filmmaking and screenplay. Have you seen either "Clerks" or "Napoleon Dynamite?"

Funny thing that you mention that. In 2002, I conceived the idea of a geeky kid with glasses and a sarcastic attitude named Seth: a year later, Jared Hess made a film at BYU called "Peluca" about a geeky kid with a sarcastic attitude named Seth, eerily similar to my idea, though my character was a few years older. It was turned into "Napoleon Dynamite" a year later.

My brother is a renaissance man. A brilliant violinist, and artisan, and novelist. Google him at Stephen Marvin.
