WASHINGTON, May 31 After vowing to steer a greater share of antiterrorism money to the highest-risk communities, Department of Homeland Security officials on Wednesday announced 2006 grants that slashed money for New York and Washington 40 percent, while other cities including Omaha and Louisville, Ky., got a surge of new dollars.
Homeland security officials said the grants were a result of a more sophisticated evaluation process

Maybe it's just the summer doldrums. Everyone's too hot to do much besides stare blankly at the screen. I know I'm having some difficulty putting a coherent sentence together! It's not just me?
Oh, thank God!
:-D

Stick a fork in it - it's done! Dang! Missed again!
Okay. Is it eye-hand coordination that goes first when you get old, or is it vision, or memory, or... oh gosh, now I've forgotten what else gets lost...?
What were we talking about anyway?

How do you keep mold from growing in your home, and buildings?

"I thought the story premise was interesting and thought provoking, and I like Mandy Patinkin."
"Oops, too bad. She just died. I guess the show's over now. "
Mandy Patankin is a SHE??

"Ethnic (Highland pipes, Celtic harp, and songs in Scots Gaelic)?"
In Seattle? Yes. A lot of native Gaels have settled here. Not so much as the Scandihoovians (term is an American joke) who have their own definitive districts (such as "Ballard" in Seattle) -- which tend to be wayoff-the-chart liberal, for good or bad. We have local jokes about them, but whatever, it's all in fun...
A few years ago a Scots Gaelic TeeVee program (BBC, out of Scotland) did a "survey" of the Gaelic Diaspora. One program covered Gaelic in the Pacific Northwest, and many of our class members (as well as our excellent teacher) were featured... speaking Gaelic. Bha e math ga riribh!!
(There are no such things as "fan dances" in Gaeldom, btw.)

"So when is it on?" It ("Dead Like Me") seems to be scheduled preceding the new series "Eureka" on Tuesday evenings.

Y'ello!
Just got in. Took Ma & th' young'ns ta see "Cars".
Unbelievable what kinds of effects thay can generate with the computer animation, now.
Great tribute in that movie to Richard Petty; one of the top three cars is a "Petty Blue" Plymouth Superbird named "The King" that proudly wears number 43.
Cool film. Lots of eye-popping digital effects, good laughs and stuff to make you take fresh stock of some things.
RATING: 5 CARS
