WASHINGTON, May 31 After vowing to steer a greater share of antiterrorism money to the highest-risk communities, Department of Homeland Security officials on Wednesday announced 2006 grants that slashed money for New York and Washington 40 percent, while other cities including Omaha and Louisville, Ky., got a surge of new dollars.
Homeland security officials said the grants were a result of a more sophisticated evaluation process

The thread isn't stuck. It just has a high coefficient of static friction. 6 posts in over 13 hours? I'll say!
Are we looking at the End of the Undead Thread?

I hope not, though it seems we have less and less visitors, even with the pings. I don't understand that...did my deodorant fail?

I don't understand either, unless it's just summertime and people are away.
I noticed I got very few pings since I logged off last evening. Usually there are a couple dozen to wade through.

I had pings, but not for here. And I usually always have FReepmail from someone here, but none this morning. ???
Do we have to arrange a funeral for the Undead Thread?

*Drive-by Posting...*
IMO, it could be that people are busier, especially with summer.
I haven't been here long enough to tell if there's a pattern, but I've seen it happen on other threads.

I can't say for anoyone else, but I just tend to fit FR into whatever else I have going on; usually work at my desk. I tend not to post from home much; I have four children who need a Father, and my wife appreciates my company. I've gotta get my j-o-b done and sometimes that means I can't post much. When that happens, I tend to use up those limited posts responding to debates "out there" in the forum.
So, if y'all don't see my screen name here, check the "In Forum" link on my Profile and you'll find me soon enough.

Sometimes, they slow down in the summer, but not necessarily always. But even allowing for that, this is slower than I've seen it since last year.

I wonder if moving it every month is the reason people aren't here? Maybe if we changed it to every other month, so the post count could go up (20,000 - 25,000) it might be more fun for those who come here.

Remember that the thread slows down, which is why we move monthly. But they get pinged when we move, and once in a while since (yesterday?).
I think people are just away. As I will be now -- work calls.

fortunately, it is no longer my problem.
he is now setting down in the back lot of a local quickiemart.
said quickiemart having the usual clientele and loiterers.
I can only speculate on how long that helicopter remains functional and/or unblemished.

Bamp-bamp-baaamp. Bamp-baamp.
We all came out to montreux
On the lake geneva shoreline
To make records with a mobile
We didnt have much time
Frank zappa and the mothers
Were at the best place around
But some stupid with a flare gun
Burned the place to the ground
Smoke on the water, fire in the sky

That kind of thing used to be the only way I could wake up; Eddie Van Halen carving out the live version of "Eruption" with a long feedback loop segue into "You Really Got Me" or, by the late 1980's, the intro to "I'm a Believer" from Giant's "Last of the Runaways" CD.
