WASHINGTON, May 31 After vowing to steer a greater share of antiterrorism money to the highest-risk communities, Department of Homeland Security officials on Wednesday announced 2006 grants that slashed money for New York and Washington 40 percent, while other cities including Omaha and Louisville, Ky., got a surge of new dollars.
Homeland security officials said the grants were a result of a more sophisticated evaluation process

The rest of us have to reap what we sow.
That's why I always smile at pretty girls. I'm looking forward to that harvest.

That's not the temp at the top. That's the temp in the valley.

You know.. it could get colder in the valley than the mountain top - more sunlight on the top.

That's why I didn't mark it...The temp in Afton Wyoming, which was the closest town to that pic has actually gotten pretty close to -50 F (-45.5 c) in January. It's average minimum (adding all the high mins and low mins) is about 26 degrees. It's not all that far from Jackson Hole and West Yellowstone, snowmobile capital of the US (and, I've been told, the place where they were invented.) We went to West Yellowstone on that trip, and next day, when we came back, it had started to snow. In September.

We all look goofy when we smile.
Just a little naked chimp begging for it's life...
:^)
That is why you never see models smiling for the camera. Instead they pout.

May as well set up a store and sell golf equipement wholesale. How on earth do you make a profit selling at wholesale?

lot of it has to do with winds, heating, and what the upper atmosphere is doing. But as a rule, mountaintops are pretty cold in winter, too. Sometimes, an air inversion keeps them warmer than the valleys, though. And there is cold air drainage, where the cold air settles into these high mountain valleys. And these places are high altitude. Afton's at about 6200 ft. above sea level.

Buy directly from the importer? The importer adds his markup, which then becomes the wholesale price.
Bob makes it for $5 including parts, labour, and expenses.
Bob sells it to Monkeyface for $10, and makes a profit of $5.
Monkeyface offers it for sale to the general public for $15, and makes a profit of $5.
In this case Monkeyface is paying wholesale.
She can't sell for wholesale.
She doesn't earn anything that way.

But soon, I'll be dropping down to about 2500 feet. I bet the air will feel thick. It did when I went to Houston last summer...

You should practice. Think of a silly old lady who is dreaming of walking from Georgia to Maine just because...but probably couldn't stand being off line for that long....
