In the U.S., states often have "burn bans" in the summer because of dry conditions leading to wildfires. There are different levels, but open fires like bonfires or campfires are the first to be cancelled. Also fireworks. Eventually, if it doesn't rain, you can't even use a charcoal grill in your driveway.
Eh... not really. It's Jim's website. He can do with it what he wants. Kinda pointless to sit around and debate it.
And it beats standing out in the street and shouting opinions at one another. Especially this time of year.
Naw... find a shady spot under an oak and talk it out over a couple of Lynchberg Lemonades. ;-)
The weather today in Seattle was SPECTACULAR. 68-70 degrees with a lovely light breeze.
I am sitting here in the Board Room at SeaTac just enjoying the view. (Amazingly, one of the people working here remembered me from 7 years ago!)
I almost convinced everyone in the meeting today to forget the meeting and go downtown and catch a ferry just for the heck of it.
Not fair I have to leave so quickly, but I miss my wifeand cat. I wish I could just use a transporter to have everything I want all in one place.
But don't we all?
Eh... I've got a headache going and I'm not feeling in good form.
I hope you feel better soon.
Two miles, eh?
They finally got to you, I see. How far along your run were you screaming?
Self-induced or environmental? I swear I can swim in the air it's so hummid out.
LOL! Until I realized I didn't have a credit card with me, so I might as well go home and deal with it.
Have we been here?

Believe it or not, they now say "please" and "thank you." I don't know if it will carry over to when their dad gets home but for now, it's music to my ears. :o])
(My daughter should pay me for this...)
I'm with you, DC. Whatever happens will happen because Jim wants it to. It's his ball, his glove, and his ballpark.
WHOA! My son should be showing up at Sea-Tac any minute now! He's getting married in the morning. Wave at him when he goes through, OK? LOL!
For me, the weather here is spectacular, too...110, 4%...ahhhhhh!!!
*sigh*
I killed it...
I don't have a report on it. We still have time if someone wants to take an expedition there.
We need to think about our impending departure. Once we leave the surface of Mars, we'll have to remain in orbit for a couple of weeks to allow our "scoop shuttles" to grab Martian atmosphere to use as reaction mass.
Then we may journey out to the asteroids and settle in for a while. Having all the comforts of home makes it easy to stay in one place.
For trips to the Jovian moons, and other points of interest, we will have to configure a much smaller exploration vehicle. Something a little larger than the scale of our Lunar Expedition Vehicle.
We could easily set up several such expeditions, one to each major planet, and perhaps one or two to the cometary region.
We are also considering the request of a few hardy souls who want to remain on Mars, in our adjacent dome shelter. I have warned them that there can be no rescue mission. They are still discussing it.
Good job! Threaten them with death, dismemberment, and dysentery!
