We went to Ground Zero this evening...we looked at the clock across the street and it read 9:11 PM. I had chills for most of the subway ride back.
For someone who has never been in NYC, I seemed to fit in fairly well. Must be all those years as a military wife...
;o]
I have a large bowie pattern knife (bladee made by Solingen back in the 70's or so) that once was an athame.
Once.
Now it is merely a knife and a particularly useful one.
If it would behave itself.
It is surgical steel, takes a nicec edge, but has this nasty habit of taking a bite out of you once in awhile, all without you feeling it.
And the looking around while wondering where the blood was coming from was my personal experience with said knife.
It nailed me in the side of the index finger at the base of the cuticle between the index and middle fingers.
(I still don't know how.)
But there it was, blood everywhere and me wondering whose it was.
Until I put my hand on my chin and felt wet on my face.
LOL!!
WOW!
"WOW!" is exactly what I said. And I took a photo of it.
Today, we're going on the Staten Island Ferry and see the Statue of Liberty, then will have dinner in Chinatown.
What fun! My feet and legs are killing me! LOL!
I hope your legs hold up!! ;)
I'll be back later.
See that you DO!

I'm back again, for a lil while!!
NYC is a fascinating place. I would take me a month to see
everything I would like to see. My brother lived there for several years when we were young, so I made many trips from Boston to NYC when I was in college. Hope you are having a ball!
Hi I-Thatch. I'm in L.A. for the weekend, and I thought I would get a break from the Arizona heat. But NO! L.A. has a heatwave going on, so the weather is the same : )
Why, were you expecting to go to LA and get chilly weather?? ;)
In the month of June? ;)
OK OK, I expected 85, not 98 : ) What is the weather like in your neck o the woods?
It's a wet day, but it's mild.
Sounds pleasant. I guess all the UT regulars are in church about now. Oh wait a minute! It's Fathers Day. Gonna be slow. I'm headin for Malibu Beach and check out all the pretty gals.
Later!
Yeah, I'll be going fro food with my parents in a while, I thought we were going a while ago.
I would rather be on Malibu Beach chasing skirt (bikini bottoms?)!! ;D
Don't be sorry - they were more exciting than my alternative... working on the dissertation. :-)
Howya Tulip!!
