It will be fun, trust me. Have a great time and say Hi to The Big Apple for me!
I'll do that! I'm getting pumped, now, since tomorrow is the day...;o]
I'll be posting from there, too, but maybe not a lot until Monday.
Recovering from this morning. Up early for a campaign kickoff breakfast, which I had to leave early to get to the office for an international (participants literally all around the globe) online meeting I had to conduct. Not stressful in the slightest, the outcome will likely decide where the remainder of my career is going, not to mention it was my first time out with the meeting software, which must be why I didn't sleep very well last night.
It went well. Another step toward the goal.
But I am wasted...
ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Welcome to Seattle.
Just made (yearly) gold on American; now to push NWA up to silver. Company travel policy makes it difficult -- though I might be looking at a lot more travel soon...

W H O ??
I really liked AS -- they are real people and treat customers the same. I really felt it hard when AS 261 (I was still on the LAX-SEA run) went down -- I flew with one of the flight attendants frequently and knew another one from some flights I had with her.
I am EP on AA and it looks like this gig will hold me there for another year (*whew*).
Note to self: Keep away from the Yugoslav threads, it's bad enough dealing with IRA apologists, without having to deal with Milosevic apologists.

Ah. Our booking system takes what you select then provides cheaper alternatives. You can deny some, but it's very difficult to get a preferred carrier. We do have three (I think) preferred carriers: NWA, American and United. Hard to keep elite status in that kind of arrangement.
Away to work...
One morning the husband returns after several hours of fishing and decides to take a nap. Although not familiar with the lake, the wife decides to take the boat out. She motors out a short distance, anchors, and reads her book.
Along comes a Game Warden in his boat. He pulls up alongside the woman and says, "Good morning, Ma'am. What are you doing?"
"Reading a book," she replies, (thinking, "Isn't that obvious?")
"You're in a Restricted Fishing Area," he informs her.
"I'm sorry, officer, but I'm not fishing. I'm reading."
"Yes, but you have all the equipment. For all I know you could start at any moment. I'll have to take you in and write you up."
"If you do that, I'll have to charge you with sexual assault," says the woman.
"But I haven't even touched you," says the game warden.
"That's true, but you have all the equipment. For all I know you could start at any moment."
"Have a nice day ma'am," and he left.
MORAL: Never argue with a woman who reads. It's likely she can also think.
there's no excuse for no-account rednecks
I keep a screwdriver, a Stanley 68-010 multi-bit ratchet driver, in my office for the odd jobs which crop up now and then.
Yesterday, after I left work, someone borrowed it.
And destroyed it.
Now, I am not angry about the unauthorized use of one of my tools - needs must, sometimes. It is rude, but situationally permissable.
Nor am I angry about the destruction of one of my tools - it happens, sometimes, and even stupid misuse of a tool (which I suspect in this case, given the remains) sometimes is necessary.
No. I'm mad about the fact that the idiot who did this PUT THE TOOL BACK IN THE DRAWER as if nothing had happened, left no notice or apology, and disposed of some evidence of culpability - all evidence points to the culprit hoping I'd not notice the damage until significant time had passed.
THAT is INSULTING.
Unfortunately for the culprit, I needed the screwdriver this afternoon for just such an one of those odd jobs for which I keep it handy.
I knew immediately that something was wrong, as it was missing its retaining strap, and the end of the handle was scored as if by impacts. I soon discovered that the ratchet was inoperable.
Upon learning from some co-workers that a certain idiot redneck auxiliary staffer had been looking for tools with which to break into her pickup truck, I played a hunch and scouted the lot for the retainer strap.
I did not find it there (I later found it in the garbage in the office farthest from mine), but I did find a small piece of it where her pickup was parked.
Probitive evidence, if not "absolute" proof even Johnnie Cochrane would have feared to face.
I went and got a new screwdriver, wasting some 45 minutes of my time (and about $5.00 of gas), spending $11.64 on an exact replacement at Home Depot.
A trifling sum, really.
Now, had the culprit had the spine to place the broken tool on my desk with an appended note of explanation - let us not dream of apology! - I would have been able to pick up that replacement tool THIS MORNING when I went into that same area of Valdosta on another errand, saving me time, gas, and aggravation.
But even that is a trifle.
The thing that sticks in my craw is the lazy slinking manner in which the culprit attempted to evade responsibility. The lack of honesty, responsibility, and respect this moron displayed towards my property and to my person as the owner puts her very deep into the pit of my contempt... perhaps irredeemably so.
I had a better sense of ethics by the time I was five.
So damn this redneck, and all who are like her.
Good rant.
People are always grabbing my tool..s.
*slap!*
I'd rather it hadn't ever have been prompted. I gave myself a rage headache.
Yikes.
Sounds like the guys who borrowed and broke some of the tools here at the apartment.
Uh-oh.. I'm at it again...
;)
I know what wasted is...it's what I'll be by the time I get to NYC tomorrow evening, after being up since Oh-Dark-Thirty.
I'm glad the reealization was less than the anticipation. I hate when it's the other way around...
Glad you kiked it, Irish! ;o]
