Flips'em, flops'em,
trick and toss'em,
Words, words, words.

But even then,
You are not a Vorgon.

Well, no. But that's a "foregone" conclusion.

"Words, words, words."

Word Weary

There are words that do not wear their meanings well,
The thoughts grown weary and much traveled.
Shuttled here and sent off there, and not a day of rest,
It’s clear that one day soon they will become unraveled.

When that day comes, how will we say, “I love you”
With words that really mean it? Instead of platitudes,
Existing on the edge of hope, unwelcome blatherings,
The dust-dry trudging syllables, with bone-weary attitudes.

And who will then say “Thank you,” and make it worth the spit?
“You’re welcome” to deflect the sound, and make a naught of it?

I would say,
“I am the world that the Sun you are illuminates!”
“You are my Morning, and my Day! My dawning waits,
For your presence, and your departure is the Twilight of my soul!
Such that the welcome sight of you becomes my only goal.”

I would say,
“You are the dew upon the fading flower,
That brings it one more day to life. Without your presence,
Hope would fade away, and all would wither in an hour,
You come with timeliness, and fill the world with pleasance.”

I would say,
“Nothing I can do will ever hope to pay,
The worth of all the wonders that you bring.
My spirits surging upward like laughter’s bubbling spray,
In the heart-embracing gladness of an endless blessed spring.”

Even so, there is a problem, though my words are fresh and new.
No one seems to understand what meaning to give to,
The phrase that stands for loving, as opposed to gratitude,
Appreciation also seems to be a series that’s unclued.

Because all of these things mean the same, we could exchange the lot.
So let’s examine what we have, there’s something I’ve forgot.
“You’re welcome” means “I love you” and “Thank You” means it too.
We did forget the meanings, and we need to make them new.

When someone says “You’re Welcome” they’re saying “I love you.”
And when you answer back with “Thank You” you can say “I love you too”
It’s not the least confusing since we’ve figured out the code.
I will take my leave in silence now that understanding’s been bestowed.

Words like threads

I send to you these words,
wound up like silk threads
on a bobbin,
shiny, and soft,
where you can see the twist
helixing around in shimmery spirals.

I send you these words,
like threads wound about a shuttle,
ready to be woven in and out
as the fabric is made,
too weak perhaps for warp,
but perfect for weft.

I send you these words,
like linen thread, sunbleached
in the afternoon light, strong,
pliable, utilitarian.
With them sew up your memories
into a brilliant cloth
dazzling in the light.

Your Brain is 60% Female, 40% Male
Your brain is a healthy mix of male and female
You are both sensitive and savvy
Rational and reasonable, you tend to keep level headed
But you also tend to wear your heart on your sleeve
What Gender Is Your Brain?

Well, Gabz lives near an ocean, but she'd put you to work.

I'm not familiar with this scenario. A hybrid of what and what?

I used to live near the ocean, but now I live next to a salt lake. Not quite the same thing...but I have lots of sea gulls to remind me...
