"... the housing boom may be slowing down ..." The next big surge in housing will have to have an energy-management component. Why buy a house you can't afford, and then have energy bills you can't afford to keep it comfortable?
People will be looking for ways to live comfortably, and affordably, and style and appearance will be secondary concerns.
Anasazi Apartments, anyone?
Okay, that's it for the early morning FReeptime. Yard work beckons. Seeya later!

And then when you find a home you are going to have to find another truck and load it and then unload it.....
Poor Face!
Well, at least it is not raining.

They have been overbuilding here for years, and two things were inevitable: 1) lack of buyers, and 2) lack of water. I've never seen Lake Mead so low. It's pretty scary.
Come to Vegas and look at the stuff here...condos and houses and time share, all waiting to be snapped up.

My daughter was telling me that the housing boom may be slowing down... Economists are warning of the same thing over here... not good for my line of work!

I will have as much help doing the loading and unloading when I get into my own place as I had yesterday. We had probably a dozen people and they started at 0700 and were done by 0900.
Rain doesn't come often here, and doesn't last long, but it can flood you out in a heartbeat. Average rainfall is 3" a year.

Less humid here, actually. Tucson gets monsoons in the summer months and averages 12" a year. Vegas may get one or two storms in the summer, but the yearly rainfall is 3". That's exactly what I need.

Tis lovely to have friends.
Every time I have moved it has rained. Regular gully washers. I think it has something to do with the storm gods having it in for me. I had some new furniture delivered on Friday.
You guessed it.
It rained.

If it rained that much here, we would flood out. The desert floor is as hard as concrete. It has been baking for thousands of years.

summer of 80, I was caught in a monsoon in Tucson. I had to pull over, as I could not drive. I was there for an hour before I realized that I had parked in front of an Elephant Bar & Grill.......................that is about all I remember : )
