Supposedly you need 13 "loci" for a complete match. If you have less it's only partial. If they have a match of 11 loci it could still be good evidence but if they have 6 or less it really isn't going to be very persuasive. I heard this from scientific "experts" making the rounds on TV.
Thanks very much for that explanation. I'm not really sure what a loci is and didn't know what they meant by a maybe match.
That's very different from saying we "almost" have a match.
