I guess no one been cleared. It's possible it's him, but I have to wonder if that wouldn't have been leaked by the people (DA and gang) if that was the case.

While there is no evidence, by using the DA past record to predict his future performance.. IMO, it's not McFadyen

They use up a piece of the sample in testing. How long IS this hair??

Rootless...Would that make it a natural loss and not a pulled out loss??

People are calling it different things, tissue, matter, material.

We don't know what it is; but we know one thing, it ain't gonna turn out to be what Nifong says it is
____

I agree.

I think Nifong was blind sided by the Duke report in which it claimed a Duke officer overheard a DPD Sargent say CGM was not credible...yadda yadda yadda.

I think the press release this morning about the DNA is nothing more than a PR tactic to get the focus back on the "guilty players."

In the end this will most likely be very weak "evidence."

I will say I did not see Abrams today, but from reading updates from Peach and Oak, it does not seem as if he is too angry about the witness intimidation, the cabby.

Someone on this thread said that she tried press-on nails, and within minutes they fell off.

I understand that and that is why I mentioned nail glue. She could've had nails previously and tossed them in the trash.

In re Allred: Not necessarily so

Rape Prevalence Statistics on Donohue Posted by Ampersand | February 6th, 2003

snips:

I was reading a transcript of a Donahue show (via Ms Musings) themed around the question “are women getting a free ride?,” an episode devoted mainly to anti-feminists Warren Farrell, Marc Angelucci and Peter Allemano (Farrell is the author of the men’s rights classic The Myth of Male Power, Angelucci and Allemano help run the National Coalition of Free Men). Also present was Gloria Allred, there to provide feminist counterpoints, and several more anti-feminists to speak on specific anti-feminist issues (a pinch of bitter divorced men, a sprinkling of anti-Title-IX jocks). Plus some dude from Stuff magazine for comic relief.

As usual, a lot of factual claims got tossed around. Many of those claims are things I know nothing about, and so can’t comment on; but there’s quite a few I do know about and would like to comment on - I expect there will be a bunch of posts from me on this subject.

For the most part, I think Allred did a great job, speaking well and refusing to fit into the women vs. men mold the anti-feminists were trying to press her into. But while aruging that “women have a long way to go,” she [ALLRED] said “one out of three [women] will be raped sometime in her lifetime.”

...

So the 33% figure Ms. Allred suggests is way out of line with current research.

Why does this matter? Normally, this isn’t the sort of fact-checking I’d bother posting, because it’s not important to the argument Allred is making: Whether 10% or 33% of women are raped in their lifetime, either way it’s way too high, and either way Allred’s point - that “women still have a long way to go” - is true. From a debate point of view, Ms. Allred’s error isn’t substantial, because correcting the error doesn’t undermine the point she was making. But there’s more to life than debating. The real statistics, as far as I can make out, are that somewhere between 10% and 15% of American women are raped sometime in their life. That’s terrifying enough; using numbers that are even higher and scarier, especially on national TV, could needlessly frighten people, especially women. The truth is bad enough without exaggeration.

--end snips.

Tissue under nail gives me the impression of the little sticky of the press on nails. It could have latched onto anything. A bathroom waste paper basket is probably the 2nd most likely place to find a hair sample.

HER DNA in the form of hair and fluids and her clothing fibers should be all over the rug and bathroom floor. Why doesn't someone address that??

Nancy Grace is a nut.
___

Yes she is, and I am not sure wy anybody would watch her on this case in particular. It's not as if she has some major viewing audience and can influence anything.

CNN barely registers on the ratings chart, imagine what her show gets on the second CNN channel!

I'd rather not upset myself watching a liar with no impact on this case what so ever.

She's irrelevant.

One thing that surprised me on Abrams today was his awareness of who 90% Pancho Villa is. If he knows, so does the defense. Since Yale felt certain an indictment was coming on Monday, hopefully this guy's whereabouts that evening have been carefully documented through additional party photos/witnesses.

On Monday we have the grand jury/possible 3rd indictment, the DNA results, mandated release of discovery to Seligmann, and a press conference by City Manager Baker to announce what he's learned from the 25 questions he asked Durham PD to answer, including whether the accuser changed her story or ever said 20 players raped her.

There could be another reason for the serving of the warrant. Mostafa has been interviewed by the DPD (after he was on Rita). We don't know what Mostafa has said in that interview. The warrant might have been to prevent the defense from saying that Mostafa received favorable treatment from the DA (that would be if Mostafa's interview helped the AV in any way). Of course, it could be that Nifong is using the serving of the warrant to strong-arm Mostafa into cooperating.

This is how the DPD dealt with Kim.

A week later, Roberts' escort agency told her police wanted to talk to her about a possible rape. After she gave a statement, police arrested her for the probation violation.

I'm saying though that the person(s) who pled may have implicated Mostafa. Okay. The question then is was the warrant sought then? Was it activated then? I'm assuming for the moment that there were grounds for the warrant at the time of the plea by the shoplifters. If it had been issued and activated then, it should have been served, either by seeking out Mostafa, who would not have been difficult to find, or therough his cabbie permit renewal process. But it wasn't. So, again I ask, when was the warrant sought and when was it activated?

What if Nifong contacted these women who pled and suggested someone else was involved with them? What if he suggested their records would be expunged if they would name that person? What if he asked them, "It was the cabdriver who helped you, wasn't it?"

Doesn't the local and/or state warrant repository have a diligence and stale-date oversight program embedded to avoid arrests on warrants expired by statute in order to avoid false arrest suits? If the warrant was issued and activated in 2003 and never served, it seems to me it should have stale-dated out of the system.

I would really like to know more about the inner workings of the warrant repository system there. I'm really perplexed as to how this whole arrest warrant on Mostafa came about, and I hope somebody, such as reade's attorney is looking into these questions with a careful eye.

I don't know.. don't know how long

Usually pulled out by force, it contains a Root.

This is most likely a naturally occuring follicle loss.

If the guy on Nancy Grace is correct, the Hair will be tested again using another procedure in an attempt to yield DNA.

Look at the cost of this Hundreds of thousands of Dollars just for DNA testing, and the argument that she was laying naked on the floor (face up and face down) will still be there. The fact that she used the bathroom, will still be there.

In the last month, there was guy shoot point-blank in the face in Durham.. a little child was shot in a gang like shooting.... Yesterday, a guy holed himself up near a day car center or elementary school with a gun and the stand-off lasted all day.
But, the District Attorney is charging college age kids with Noise Violations and arresting Cab drivers for crimes that have already been admitted..and the perpetrator has already been sentenced.

Putting Nifong's unethical (and potentially illegal) tactics, aside - the People of Durham are not getting served by this extensive prosecution on the word of an EX-CON.

Jezebelle, the state is run by Democrats. Need anything else be added. Except that early on, Howierd Dean stated her assertion to grab the "red" states in addition to the 7 western. Basically, that those in red states are too stupid to look up data for themselves to understand that they are being lied to by their OWN media and their own "elected" leaders. Back then, 2004, I read others echo a sentiment on public boards that taking "out" the red states would be a "cake walk".

You and I know, this is how the socialists "did" CA.

People in NC think they are poor and sufferin' now? They ain't seen nothing yet.

I believe the warrant was ISSUED in 2003. I'm sure we'll find out that is the case. There's no way Nifong is that stupid.

It would be routine to issue that warrant when a complaint was made by the store and their survielance cameras revealed a license plate of the car the PERP left in..

I just think, we'll find the warrant is from 2003.

I didn't say Allred wasn't feminazi. I said I don't think she'll be seeking Kim out for a client.

Many misdemeanor warrants aren't served in Durham. They have a major crime problem.

I see your point.

That's what I thought you were saying; but then I got unsure. lol. Allred is a "feminist" Johnnie "Black Power" Cochran.

This is why I asked. On the transcript of photo lineup ID interview I was trying to read the redacted name of Image #5.

I looked at the names that were not redacted, Collin Finnerty and Reade Seligmann. Both have names 15 characters, typed on the ID in a font that is 2:1 to the transcript dialog font.

The redacted name for Image #5 is above about 26 characters of dialog font, therefore the name contains approximately 13 characters.

It appears the redaction missed a lower case character in the first name.

Possible? I could be way off. Just asking the question ...
