I liked his Levon tonight too, but it was the third best one of his that I have heard. The best being a live club recording and next the first time he sang it on Idol.
The arrangement tonight was too much and the band too busy. He could have hit another homerun here with a softer, more acoustical version.

That is because he is a "Southern Gentleman"....
If he wins tomorrow night..I wish they would let him play his harmonica!

(Dixie Chicks) they're advertising their new cd on the tv.....i don't know anyone who will buy it! I saw that! It takes either a lot of guts or a lot of stupidity to hock their cd during a Country awards show. No one watching it is going to buy their garbage.

Levon wasn't the best choice, but it was OK.
It subdued his energy which is an asset of his.

McPhee is singing her "first single" My Destiny. It has an Inside Your Heaven flavor to it :-/
It was just an awful song. She had a hard time with it as well...

I thought it was interesting how the judges (Randy in particular) blamed the song instead of the singer.
Yes...the song (My Destiny) was uber-cheesy, but Katharine's notes were all over the place.
Randy was sure to slam Taylor for being allegedly "pitchy" during Levon but not a word about Pitchiness to Kat.
That said...I kinda felt sorry for her too because she knew she didn't write the song.

The judges let Kat slide way too much on the last song.
To: silent_jonny
It's playing on CBS and their could be some Bush haters who might bite at the commercial to buy a cd, but I do think they made a mistake by becoming political in the way they have regarding their career.

OMG...I have on Tucker Carlson's show...and he has on William Hung, asking him who he thinks should win...and right in the middle of a sentence that made no sense...he sneezed HUGH...just let if fly!!
Tucker said "Bless you"..then asked him what his favorite performance was...and Hung said, "on American Idol?"...duh.
He wants McPhee to win...duh, again....

I think Taylor wanted his middle song to be the subdued one. IMHO, Something would have been more suited for that. But he loves doing Levon and probably figured it would seem fresher since he performed it long before Something.
To: TonyWpi
She's a good looking girl, but her voice has no low end.
She is incomplete and therefore she is not going to be the next American Idol IMO.

Too much slamming on Kat, deserved or not, would get her the sympathy vote. Maybe they didn't want to go too negative.

AOL Poll is interesting...
Last week they had:
Katharine
Taylor
Elliott
Katharine has always been a "favorite" with the AOL poll results. She's almost always on top. (Hmmmm....there's a thought)
But this week Taylor has taken the lead!
This means that Elliott's votes must be leaning heavy in Taylor's direction.
SOUL PATROL!! WHOOOO!
