"It's mandated that every schlocky finale song must be accompanied by a choir--by force if necessary"
ROTFALMAO....
Well...I'm gonna get offline for a while and get voting!
I'll check in later and check Dial Idol scores before bed.
Good luck Soul Patrol!
BTW...for Elliott fans...did anyone notice that Elliott was shouting "Soul Patrol" after Taylors 2nd or 3rd song?

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of his. Wonder if he's gonna marry Nicole. He just won male vocalist. Let's see if he thanks her.

Kelly never was thin....and I saw an interview with her a while back..and she said she was going to "stay myself"...
I didn't think the capri pants were a good choice, (as someone who, though thin, have HUGH calves, knows)...her calves are too big.
But, I LIKE the fact that she hasn't become anorexic to "please" the media.

Try the 04 line now.
I've never voted before, but I got through 5 times on 02, then just now 2 times on the 04 line.

Out in Denver on business this week, so here is my Recap an hour late.
Kat - Black Horse and A Cherry Tree - This was good, but just OK for me. Was not blown away. Liked it better the first time.
Taylor - Living For The City - WOW! Awesome job on this song by Taylor. Lot's of energy and emotion. Taylor is on his A game tonight.
FIrst round clearly to Taylor
Kat - Somewhere Over The Rainbow - OK, got to give the girl her props. That absolutely blew last weeks performance away. THat was fantastic. This is the key and range Kat needs to sing in forever.
Taylor - Levon - Another great Taylor performance. Good song, but not a wow song. I liked it but nowhere near as good as the first song.
Second round to Kat
Kat - My Destiny - AUGH!!!! My ears. This was so off key , pitchy, and sappy it was beyond pitiful. TO reuse a comment from earlier this season -- I would say this sucked Canal Water, put that would be an insult to Canals. I haven't even heard Taylor's song yet, and I can unequivacably say this - KATHERINE just LOST with this trainwreck.
Taylor - Do I Make You Proud - SHAZAM!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL. WOOHOO!! SOUL PATROL SOUL PATROL SOUL PATROL. Started Slow, but wow wow wow what an ending. He blew the roof off with that song!
ROund 3 Taylor -- Game Set Match - TAYLOR
Ratings -
1 Kat - Somewhere Over The Rainbow
2 Taylor - Living in the City
3 Taylor - Do I make You Proud
4 Taylor - Levon
5 Kat - Black Horse and a Cherry Tree
6 Kat - MY Destiny

Tay Tay called, and he wants me to ask you if you'll be is girl friend. He also said that Chris passed him a note in music class at Graceland that asked him to ask me if I would go with him. They want us to right notes back and check "yes" if we like like them, and "no" if we only like them.

American Idol: The Final Two
Soulful Taylor Hicks Battles It Out With Californian Katharine McPhee
NEW YORK, May 23, 2006
(CBS) Taylor Hicks and Katharine McPhee battled it out Tuesday night for this year's "American Idol" title.
Now it's up to America to vote for their favorite.
During the one-hour performance episode, McPhee and Hicks sang three songs including the songs chosen to be their debut singles.
The show featured a performance by Daniel Powter, whose song, "You've Had A Bad Day," has played at the end of every announcement episode while clips of the exiting finalist were shown.
Here's the tale of the tape for this final championship round:
Katharine McPhee is a 22-year-old California girl from Los Angeles. She's beautiful, young, and has a powerful voice all of which fit the image of a typical pop idol.
Throughout the contest, her weakness has been over-singing her songs. Each judge in his or her own way has tried to get her to tone down the wailing.
The most successful was Simon Cowell. The cranky British judge chose the 1939 classic "Over The Rainbow" for Kat to sing on May 16. Sitting on the stage, Kat sang the song gently, with feeling, and no screeching, much to the delight of the audiences and Simon.
Tuesday night Kat sang, in order, KT Tunstall's "Black Horse in a Cherry Tree," "Over the Rainbow," and her new song "My Destiny."
Taylor Hicks, a 29-year-old grey-haired bluesman, is McPhee's competition. The Alabama-based singer entered the competition as something of a goofy novelty.
Despite his loose-legged dance moves and "aw shucks" attitude, Hicks has won over fans and judges alike with consistently solid vocal performances and ability to command the stage like a veteran showman.
Taylor sang Stevie Wonder's "Livin' For The City," Elton John's "Levon" and his single, "Do I Make You Proud?"
According to Simon, Taylor "slaughtered" Kat in Round 1, but Kat managed to even the score in Round 2.
Following Round 3, Simon called Kat a "great potential artist," but after Taylor performed Simon said, "Assuming that I was right that the show was tied, then you've just won 'American Idol.'"
Of course, host Ryan Seacrest took that as an opportunit to remind the audience that Simon turned Taylor down during the audition phase of the contest. Taylor made it into the contest because judges Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul voted him in.
Despite Simon's confidence, it's difficult to predict who will win.
More than 50 million votes were recorded in last week's competition. The votes were almost evenly split between Hicks, McPhee and third-place finalist Elliott Yamin. The question of who wins may turn out to be a simple matter of which of the two finalists reels in more votes from Yamin's disappointed fans.
Or it could be song choice, the actual performances, or what outfits the finalists choose to wear on stage. Nobody knows for sure, even though some betting web sites have Taylor as the favorite.
McPhee, Hicks and the viewing audience will have to wait to hear the outcome at the end of a marathon two-hour live results show on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. ET.
Carrie Underwood, last year's winner, will visit to perform her single "Don't Forget To Remember Me." This season's top 12 finalists will be back for an onstage reunion as well.

Yes...I remember him...I didn't watch the whole season..but I remember watching him a few times.
Clay Akins has sold some CD's also, I beleive.
I would PAY to see Taylor...I wouldn't take a McPhee CD if someone gave it to me.
