My team, the Red Wings, has been eliminated.
So now, I'm for New Jersey.
Go Devils!

I'm really disappointed the Flames lost (man did the Ducks play awesome defense), I was really hoping for a Smythe Division Final like the old days.

I like your predictions, however I'll take Buffalo in 7 over the Sens.
I think the Devils will win the East and the Oilers will win the west.
The Senators/Sabres series should be a beauty, probably the best of the entire playoffs!

I'm going to go with the Sabres over the Sens. Really looking forward to that series. I just can't root for the Devils, so I am going to say Canes in 6. I agree with your assessment of the other 2 games.

Avs over Ducks - 4-1

Oilers vs Devils in finals, Oilers in 7 exciting games

I totally agree about the Sabres/Sens - too many unknowns about the goaltenders - Miller has looked good so far, but he is young. Also agree about the Devils coming out of the east - tough to bet against Broduer this time of year.
From my perspective as an Av's fan - would much rather be playing the Ducks than the Sharks - hopefully having Konawalchuk back in the lineup helps get them to the Conf. finals.

one of my favorite times of the year :-)
now that I'm retired I don't hesitate staying up til 2:00 watching a double OT game out west. I wish I had been able to see more regular season so I could comment more cogently, but I thought the Oilers had the look of a team coming together at the right time.

The Senators/Sabres series should be a beauty, probably the best of the entire playoffs!Agreed, and the winner of that series against the Devils should also be a beaut.
I'll take Ottawa in both matches.
To: ken5050
According to Bill Clement on OLN last night - the odds of that happening were 275/1.

Remeber back when the NHL first expanded..all the new teams were in the other division, and they got swept every year in the Cup finals..

Agreed! And, my team is already out of the playoffs.
To: Texas2step
Hmmm...in the old days they used to rerank the teams...Ottawa (113 points) would have played New Jersey (101 points), and Carolina (112) would have played Buffalo (110)....
Buffalo is one of my teams to win in my office pool. It's just for fun but one wrinkle we have is that if you pick a team to lose and they continue to win, you accrue negative points until they do lose.

They still do, but they do it according to seed, and they give the 3 division winners the top 3 seeds.

Ottawa 6-Buffalo scores with 10 seconds to go,Going to OT!!! Woaaahhh!!! This is wild!
This is going to be the best series in years!
