AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 1920) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | April 25. 2006 | All of Us

Posted on 04/25/2006 5:02:12 AM PDT by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

The bombings in Dahab appear to have been targeted at westerners, possibly coupled to The Evil One's taped message. Among the 23 dead, there were 20 Egyptians.

President Bush has ordered an investigation into whether gas prices have been illegally manipulated in recent weeks.

Israel has called Iran the "worst threat to Jews since Hitler."

A man in Hayward, CA, was rescued from a chimney in which he was stuck, totally naked. He had locked himself out of the house and decided to get in through the chimney, stripping his clothes off because, he says, it would reduce the friction. Police have arrested the man on suspicions of being under the influence of drugs.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

VEGETARIAN CHILI WITH CORN

2 15 oz. cans diced tomatoes, undrained
2 15 oz. cans kidney beans, drained
15 oz. can garbanzo beans, drained
15 oz. can corn, drained
1 bell pepper, chopped
1/2 cup, or more, onions, chopped
6 cups low-sodium tomato juice (I use regular)
2 TB minced garlic (I leave it out)
1/2 tsp. cumin
1/2 tsp. dried oregano
1/4-1/2 tsp. black pepper, accoding to taste
1-3 tsp. chili powder, according to taste
1 cup TVP (Textured Vegetarian Protein)(I used Ev's left-over veggie burgers)

Throw it all in your slow cooker and cook on low 7-8 hours or on high 4 hours.

I halved the recipe. I also added about 1 tsp. of salt. Low-salt just doesn't do it for me.

I'm not that ambitious.:)

Hubby used to make yogurt. We still have the yogurt maker. Maybe someday. It would be economical, I'm sure; I eat it every day.

Howdy, from misty central Texas. Some days the electric treadmill will not stop, other days it won't move. Stay calm and stay safe.

I was watching it on Fox. They said the substance peeled tile off the floor and made several people extremely nauseous. Then, they said it turned out to be FISH BAIT.

I do not believe that any fish bait would peel tile off the floor. I think someone is lying for what reason I do not know.

Is it hard to make? I have a brand new 15 year old yogurt maker that I've never used since I lost the directions!

I don't think so. I can't really remember...hubby was the one who did it.

I think it's just a matter of heating up the ingredients, putting it in little cups inside of the thingy, and plugging it in and letting it sit for....I dunno.12 hours? Something like that.

Not htat hard but of course, picking it up at the store is faster.:)

Yep. You just know they will be looking to dig up anything they can. Not that any of his postings here were particuarly outrageous by any means. Prolly just more of a precaution.

I wonder if yogurt would work as a substitute for buttermilk in the recipe to make Moss grow on clay flower pots?

Moss on Flower Pots is just "one of those things". I have some flower pots with artificial moss on them.

I'm hoping to find the time to make my own this year.

The rumor is that President Bush was a lurker and maybe even a poster until the run for the Presidency.

I wonder if yogurt would work as a substitute for buttermilk in the recipe to make Moss grow on clay flower pots?

According to HGTV you can use yogurt.

Make your own "living pot" by decorating it with moss. Here's how:

Materials:
1 tbsp. moss spores (available at your local nursery)
1 cup live culture medium such as buttermilk or plain yogurt
water (as needed to create a thin consistency)
terra-cotta pots
paint brush
pebble tray
water-filled spray bottle
plastic bag

Steps:

  1. Mix 1 cup of yogurt with 1 tbsp. moss spores; add enough water to make the mixture a thin consistency.
  2. Put the terra-cotta container on a moist pebble tray, then pre-moisten the container with a water-filled spray bottle.
  3. Using a paint brush, apply a thin layer of moss mixture over the surface of the pot. Coat the entire pot or only certain parts of it--it's up to you.
  4. Cover the piece with a plastic bag to keep in humidity, and place it and the pebble tray in a cool, shady location. Add water to the tray. As the water evaporates, it will be trapped in the plastic bag.
  5. Keep the pebble tray moist and away from bright light. In four to eight weeks you should see moss beginning to form on the pot.
  6. Then it's time to plant something inside the container!
