Novick's an opportunist more than anything else. David Palmer was a Democrat. President Keeler, who was incapacitated when Air Force One was shot down in Season 4 was a Republican. Logan was his Veep. That should make Logan a Republican.I don't think this is correct. In season 3, Keeler was Palmer's primary opponent. That would make him a Rat, and therefore Logan a Rat (in more ways than one) as well.

No he wasn't. See COEXERJ145's explanation in #3,241:

Not only that, but according to
Wikipedia, Season 3 was supposed to be set in September 2006, 4 1/2 years after Season 1. Kyle Singer's driver's license showed he was born in August 1987. He was supposed to be 19, which wouldn't occur until August, which is well after primary season.

See my post, 3241.Maybe we are both right. :) The producers found a clever way to avoid sticking Logan with one of the parties. Or at least that's my working theory and I'm sticking to it. :)

We're in 2009 or 2010 in the 24 world.
This is one reason why TPTB might have S6 take place only a few days or weeks after S5. This would slow down the time line and keep Jack from aging too far ahead of Kiefer.

Actually, they really never mention it. Had there not been one throw away line in S1 about Palmer being a Democrat, I doubt we would have ever known.

If I had seen any of the previous seasons I'm sure I could figure all this out for you and engage in this meaningful repartee. But since I didn't, I'll just tell you what those "twists" in next week's show are going to be.
1. Audrey retires and establishes the Audrey Raines Eating Disorder Clinic in Albuquerque.
2. Chloe becomes a world-reknown therapist famous for a groundbreaking new "therapy du jour" for phobias -- a well-timed scowl and a shot with her stun gun.
3. And finally, Jack will finally slow down long enough to take a leak just so we'll know he's human.
