Well....I taped 24 and Grey's, watched Grey's until 24 came on, watched 24, got the kid in bed, and then switched back to Grey's.
Whew! Too much tension.
Now I can read the thread and tomorrow I'll watch the parts of the show I missed.
A few quick comments before I start reading.

Rock with glasses #2=Mike Novick=Guy who has no problem selling out Presidents if he thinks it's the right thing to do.
When he was David Palmer's Chief of Staff in season 2, he went behind David Palmer's back with the VP to convene the cabinet to temporarily remove David Palmer from office under the 25th Amendment. Claim - David Palmer was incapacitated because he trusted Jack Bauer's judgment that the "Cyprus recording" about who was behind a terrorist attack was a fake, despite scant evidence. The Veep and Novick wanted to bomb some undisclosed middle eastern countries immediately. Jack and Palmer won in the end; Novick was fired.

What's the deal about things that are red?! Reference to the original 'Star Trek' series (1966-1969)...
Wherein the 'away team' always had an anonymous crew member (red shirted security team) that was always done in by the episoe's villain/monster/poison/trap/carelessness/etc.
Hence the anonymous red shirted security was just 'cannon fodder' for most 'Star Trek' episodes.
Presently...Here at CTU any red shirted security personnel featured in most scenes were done in by the end of the hour. Now 'FReepers tie in anything red on "24", to 'so long red shirted one...been nice knowing you'
Reminds me of the Godfather movies...wherein any scene containing oranges meant somebody was going to die soon.

Novick's an opportunist more than anything else. David Palmer was a Democrat. President Keeler, who was incapacitated when Air Force One was shot down in Season 4 was a Republican. Logan was his Veep. That should make Logan a Republican.

Two goofs by Jack in one show? Why the double hockey stick didn't he tell the sub commander about the gas. He let him poke his head up to see what's up? They could have sealed the sub from within.

Actually I think Keeler (and Logan) are Democrats.
The election that Palmer dropped out of in Season 3 where he was running against Keeler was a primary. Keeler got the nomination because Palmer dropped out.
