AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 1919) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | April 24, 2006 | All of Us

Posted on 04/24/2006 4:55:31 AM PDT by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

I'm back. Nice, quiet time along the beach, but way too short. Kids were picked up from the airport last night, and they look like they've been to Florida, complete with the requisite sunburn (not too bad, either of them).

In the news...

The Evil One is promising a long war with the United States and has, in his latest video tape, promised to make war upon civilians. He has also called upon his supporters to combat the UN "peacekeeping" force located in the Sudan.

The Evil One's logic for attacking civilians is that the civilians are supporting their governments' new Crusades upon the Mid-East.

Oil prices are easing back from their recent highs of $75/bbl.

Meanwhile, both Senate Majority Leader Frist and Speaker Hastert are engaging in a major cover thy six and blame someone else because it wasn't my fault game. Both leaders are blasting the President for not doing enough about high gasoline prices--well, Congress, where's the drilling in ANWR? Where's the additional refining capacity allowance?

And the daughter of the founder of Earth Day says gas prices are not nearly high enough (she doesn't say what "high enough" is).

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

I understand the thinking that we need to support patriotic films, good quality films and that we must do this through the box office. I agree. I'll tell you what. I'll buy the admission. I'm not buying my ticket for anyone else as that would deplete the box office revenue (I may purchase other tickets for movie goers, however). I'll support the film and the patriotic effort w/o subjecting myself to nightmares.

Bev, you are in my thoughts and prayers as you deal with the loss of your mother. Thank you for sharing her with us; her life and loves and especially the warm relationship that you and she enjoyed. I'm glad you were able to care for her for so long. You are a special person.

You're hired! And you won't even have to shine brass. Can you be at work tomorrow at 6 PM? ;-)

I understand your reasons for not going and think they are valid for you. Years ago, I let hubby talk me into going to see "Jaws" with him and I still have occasional nightmares over it so I can identify with what you are saying.

I do think it's regrettable that people like the ones on Fox and Friends seem to be discouraging people from seeing the movie though. Lots of people who wouldn't think twice about going to a horror movie may take a pass on this one because of what they hear about it. I think that's what Guennie was referring to.

I certainly don't judge someone's patriotism on whether or not they see a particular movie ... and can't question your patriotism at all, movie or not. We all know that you are true Red, White, and Blue! (((((Jemian)))))

As soon as the movie comes to Waco, we're going. Roomey, at first said he didn't want to see it, so I told him, I'd go by myself. He informed me, yesterday, that we would both go to the movie. I think it's important that we support this showing and let the left wing media types and hollywierds know we remember and will never give up the fight for freedom.

((((Mozie and Mr Mozie)))) I guess the doc is back in his sandbox by now. Will keep him in our prayers and will send him some "spicy" stuff.

Actually, FWIW, Rotten Tomatoes...(it's a movie website both Dolly & I are familiar with) gave this movie 100 percent rating.

Anything 60 & above is a great rating for them,. and this one got 100%!!!

This actually surprised me, as they're usually pretty liberal, IMO.

The book by Escoffier. Not the Poo-Bah himself. He's been dead for years, and moulders in a grave in Paris...

Escoffier, the book. Not the.... remains.

I really don't have him in my trunk. I don't even have a vehicle with a trunk....

I'll quit shutting up now....

Hi Mozie - I'm late to the thread today. Hope you had a nice visit with Ev when he was home and that the rest of his time away goes fast.

It was cold and rainy here today but looks like sun will be out tomorrow and warmer temps again.

Dear Bev - my condolences on Miss Lily's passing.

I want to tell you how touched I was by your posts in the last days of her life. Your description of her peacefullness made me realize that I would be so grateful if the Lord decided to take me in the same way when my time comes.

I also hope my children give me the love and care you have given your Mother. Bless you, Bev.

My husband has been going to Canada fishing for years. Last year when they went he took his passport with because he had heard they would be required. They weren't at that time but will be soon. Also, in the past when they went through the border control, my husband, who has a pacemaker had no problems with that setting anything off. This past year, when they went through, they were asked if they had cellphones, etc. that would set them off. They did and gave them over for the moment. The sensor went off anyway. It was my husband's pacemaker that set it off. He has a document showing that he has this pacemaker for instances like this but they searched him anyway.

The point if that within the last year their sensors are a lot more sensitive and they ask a lot more questions getting into Canada.
