>>Rav what happened with the passport?
I cancelled my last day of biz meetings got up at 4AM for the 4 hour train ride and went to the US Embassy in Copenhagen. There were two guys outside and when you walk up - one of them minds the door and the other asks what you're up to. Then there's a pause while some guy inside runs some face recognition software (the windows are one-way - the outside looks black. Once inside there's a super-sensitive metal detector that picks up your dental fillings and you turn in your cell phone, etc. Then I went to the next door and was staring at a few doors and windows and no signs. I walked up to a random door and I hear a loud authoritative "Can I help you?" There was a marine behind a glass window and he looked mean. He directed me to a door I hadn't seen (with a sign on it) and then continued to look mean.
Then I ran into some really nice people. It was no trouble at all to get a temporary passport. They said it would take about an hour and directed me to a coffee house down the street (which I did - I walked past the other embassies - with no apparant security at all (Switzerland had the door open - looked like you could walk in) but - I had to go through that security again when I got back)....and I got back to the airport in time to make an early flight home. THe only trouble I had was in the train on the way back. The conductor didn't speak English and was staring at my ticket and saying something in Danish. I swear he was saying "No Freepers allowed in Copenhagen" - but he eventually shook his head and went on his way. At the airport, the SAS ticket lady told me there are gangs that roam the railways and airports looking for targets - she sees them in the airport all the time. It was whispered that they are the immigrants from the former Eastern block countries and the muslims!!!
But - all is well. I need to get a real passport now.

Good Morning: Miss Lily had a quiet night. Still has pneumonia but improving - still won't eat. Roller coater ride continues.
Living in a rural area, the cost of gas is hitting people hard. Already seeing produce prices higher. Although I know our President can't do much about oil prices....he and our Reputblican party are taking the hits for it.
Oregon has always been a Democrat state, even more so now. I have s sick feeling in the pit of my stomach.
The "I" word is being thrown around.

Good morning early posters (well is isn't too early now is it?)
Yes, I will post the weekend thread, either late tonight or early tomorrow molly.
I have been following all your escapes for the most part. Been really busy here. didn't even get in the garden yet but did get the seed potatoes & other seeds & dirt & peat moss.
Molly.. loved your talking to the ladies at Panera. I like to engage people like that & they are often taken back & surprised not sure if I am going to mug them. When strangers approach most are cautious.
Lysie.. In summer I use a lot of skin so soft. *(Avon) After bath I have a wash cloth with the oil on it & I rub it over my damp skin. It is a helpful bug deterrent for me. As I spend a LOT of time outdoors, I want something good & the bug repellents for the most part are very strong/chemically smelling.
bev.. good news on Miss Lily. She seems like a character who has brightened the lives of so many people in her long life & was instrumental in making you the fine woman you are today.
Rav. welcome home & glad you were able to work out the passport mess. My passport was "lifted" in Haiti. I an the other missionaries there at the time met with staff & I spoke saying I know that one of them had it & I know how valuable it was money wise to them. I told them I really needed it back & explained why. (I had no admin to help me Rav & would have had to remain in Haiti for who knows how long... alone.. not a good idea)
I told them was going to pray for them & hoped they would return it to my room. It was on my bed when I got back from the crusade that night.
I have out of town company arriving late this afternoon & am doing some gratis counseling to military families earlier.. so got to hop along here.
Molly, will be in your area tomorrow night for a Pet Rescue Benefit Fundraiser.. Two actually the same night. I will stop in briefly at church for a benefit for a young couple.. long story , wont repeat here.
All..might want to stop in to offer support/prayers at the thread re: Baker, whose hubby committed suicide yesterday

GOOD P.M. MP FROM THE MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST, USA, BRUISED BUYT NOT BROKEN!!!!
WE GOT CLOUDS, THUNDER BUT NOT NO RAIN.. Here is hoping.
Don't you just hate the so called polls? DID YOU KNOW that pubs believe it is a right for all to breath but the dims (100 percent) believe that dims only have that right????
I say it is time to stand at the wharf and wave bye-bye to the UN as they fade into the sunset, they are a joke, a big one at that.
Think I will grab , me a little nap, talk to you later.

I have been doing a lot of housework. I was going to work outside this afternoon but it is still gloomy and coolish, and my knee hurts. Grrr. So, I did laundry and cleaned. Not nearly as much fun, even though it is not as hard physically.
Off to meet grandkids and then go see their art projects that got selected for the district-wide art exhibit. Maybe I will show up this evening.
Frankly, I have little interest in FR now except for the Tony Snow thread and ATRW. The level of hate for the President just makes it too depressing to read all of those threads. I think I will be on FR less for a while. I don't need all of the anger and hatefulness. It's spring, and I will work in my garden...which I can do because President Bush has done such a good job with taxes and the economy, and because there aren't terrorists running around trying to shoot me.
Off I go. I will see you all later.
