The victim, a single mom who turned to exotic dancing to support her two kids, attends North Carolina Central University, a mostly black college in Durham.
She plans to keep a low profile until the students go on trial to avoid inflaming tensions in the black community, where opinion is running heavily against the privileged students.
One of the most hurtful things for the woman about the media circus surrounding the case, the cousin said, is the tendency to assume the worst about her because she is a stripper.
"She's a victim and she's a human being," the cousin said. "Her occupation couldn't justify that a crime like this was committed."

How in the world did the cops miss four unpainted fake nails when they searched it? And why did she have so many?
I certainly would not want to base my case primarily on the nurse-examiner's diagnosis unless there were significant injuries such as one might see in the case of a young child.
They only danced for a few minutes, hit the bathroom and then left though, didn't they? So she didn't have time to apply the nails until 12:25 or 12:30 and then dance more, I don't think.
She had about 20 minutes ... from around 12:04 to 12:20-30.
Her thumb is definately has color on it. I would have liked to see her polish job since she apparently was under the influence... :o

It is definitely not a "friendly" business. Sometimes these strippers are ruthless about getting money from a client.

and I'll bet she lost a few nail when she fell on the step, leaving wet polish on the rail ... both glue and polish may not have set. Perhaps a few more clutching the brake lever in the car Kim was driving? Was it Kim's car?

It dries pretty fast if you put a couple drops on....she is probably experienced at the nail thing since she had them in her purse/clutch/makeup bag. You could repair a couple nails and glue a couple on and then, polish them in around 20 mins if you knew what you were doing. But, being impaired would make the timing a lot longer and could possibly be why she was missing nails....she was too impaired to finish the job. If that's the case then there would most likely be traces of glue, nails and polish in the bathroom.
