Time for a new FreeRepublic folding@home thread.
Our FreeRepublic team of 300+ members comprised primarily of Free Republic members in good standing have banded together to donate their excess CPU cycles to a worthy cause. Via distributed computing, millions of computers around the world, contribute directly to scientific research, in the quest for a greater understanding of diseases such as Alzheimer's, Cancer, and Mad Cow (BSE).
Currently, the team is in 144th place (with 1,045 CPUs - 24,200 completed Work Units and nearly 4,000,000 points)
This is an entirely voluntary program, and if you want to learn more, please see the links posted below (or read one of the previous 8 folding threads)
Yup, and we sure haven't heard any of the DUmmie crowd hollering about how they're catching up to us lately, have we?!?
DU broke into the Top 300
Yea, I saw that.
Thursday morning bump.
Going to have to shut 'em down for the day, too many storms coming through.
We should make it into the Top 100 in 30 days
http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/team_list.php?s=&p=2
We're #27 overall in terms of average daily points
http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/team_list.php?s=&srt=3
At this rate,
1.) We're make the Top90 in 58 days
http://fahstats.com/tr.php?t=36120
. . . Top75 in 97 days, Top60 in 223 days and Top 50 in 428 days. Beyond that it's a tough climb, unless we grow. Currently, Top40 is in 833 days and Top 30 in 1,951 days (which is more than 5 years).
WooHoo!
Putting on that second processor means I'm about to leapfrog Hoplite!
:-)
Nice to see you on another thread!
One of my servers isn't visible to the outside world right now. Of course, Murphy dictates that it will be the one that FAH Monitor is running on.
I'm working on the problem, and hope to have it resolved quickly.
Sorry for any inconvenience!
Grunt - groan - pant - whew! Back in the top 20 and s/b + 20K w/i 2 days. Puleeeze no more rain!
houeto - I'm back on your 6! ":^)
Folding on.
It's up now. Internal routing problem. Things would work great if I'd just STOP TOUCHING STUFF!
Someone stop me.... please!
Hey, df - TGIF!
I'm not going to miss this weekend - taking tomorrow off and going to do a little boot-scootin' tonight, heheh.
Ya - TGIF !!!! The boys from the Ivory Tower finally left this morning, after a nice short 10 DAY STAY in town. Hopefully though, we won't see them again for another two years. The only boot-scooting I'm doing tonight, is to bed !!! Tomorrow night though, is darn well going to be another story !!!! LOL
Be careful, and hoist a cold one for me !!! ;)
Since you love to post stats, I thought I'd direct this to you. I was DUmpster diving, and thought I'd copy their last 3 posted milestones here for everyone to see:
#333 (with 321 CPUs)
#297 (with 304 CPUs)
#290 (with 294 CPUs)
Hey DUmmies, the idea is to get your ranking number to go down (so you're making some progress there), but you need your CPU count to go UP!!! Geez, think they'd get a clue by now how this works. How are we supposed to consider you real competition if you can't even figure out how it's supposed to work???
Klutz by himself has nearly as many points as the DUmmies (1346693 for Kd vs. 1381769 for DU).
What's more, our next 15 top folders, without Klutz, have more points (1396898) than all of the DUmmies.
Way to go FR. And BD thanks for the DU update. I went over there looking to see why they have been so quiet lately, but had to come up for air before I found the Folding thread.
Yup, and I'm scheduled to cross 20,000 points today!
FOLD ON!!
LMAO!!!
Must get more CPU power. Must get...
~sigh... guess I've got to offer to go over to my in-laws house and "tune-up" their computer. Tinker, tinker, fix, fix, optimize, optimize...What? That red flower? Oh, that's nothing, don't worry about it.
