"Yep he called it "the Microsoft way", then called me a raving lunatic when I proved linux has to be rebuilt as well."
Yeah, he did call it the Microsoft Way, and he did call you a raving lunatic, and you did prove that Linux has to be rebuilt as well.
That's because...
...it is the Microsoft way (they said so themselves)...
...you ARE a raving lunatic...
...and Linux DOES have to be rebuilt after being rooted.
None of which changes the fact that he never said it only happens to Windows.
No matter what spin you put on it, you still tried to attribute to him something he did not say. Wahh, he insulted you, etc. Fine. You're still lying.
ping-o-rama
It's quite clear to everyone on this site (other than the linux liars) who the raving lunatic is. How do you even come up with a name like FLAMING DEATH when it's obvious you can't fight your way out of a wet paper bag?

I didn't bother to look at any of the links she posted because I believe it is a waste of time to feed trolls. Especially raving lunatic trolls.
Of course, ANY server that gets rooted really needs to be reloaded of known good media, because there is otherwise no way to have any reasonable degree of confidence in your system binaries. Even such commands as "ps" and "ls" have been known to be modified by rootkits. This is one of the things that 'chkrootkit' does is look for mods of these critical files. I run chkrootkit on all my linux boxes every night just as a sanity check, not because I have a reasonable expectation of any of them having been rooted.
My initial joke at Microsoft's expense was, I'm sure, recognized by most tech folks (excepting our resident troll of course), in that it seems that the standard answer for problems with MS-Windows is as follows:
I've seen people posting here on FR that they'd dealt with computers that were so horribly infected by spyware and other malware that seems to be so prevalent in the Microsoft world, that it was actually easier to just reload the box than try to fix it.
Of course, our resident troll is a freaking lunatic who does nothing but disrupt things around here, and must respond to any slap at the object of her adoration (anything Microsoft produces including gas passed by Mr. Bill).
