Night moves - excellent. He can point to Kat when he sings "she was a black haired beauty with big dark eyes; and points of her own sitting way up high".
Play That Funky Music - Wild Cherry
Love Is Alive - Gary Wright
Dream Weaver - Gary Wright
You Sexy Thing - Hot Chocolate
Love Hurts - Nazareth
Take It To The Limit - The Eagles
Golden Years - David Bowie
Lowdown - Boz Scaggs
Evil Woman - ELO
She's Gone - Hall & Oats
Tear The Roof Off (Give Up The Funk) - Parliament
Still The One - Orleans
Got those off iTunes. Some good choices in there.
Another GREAT option for Taylor. He could have a blast doing this song. Right in his vocal wheelhouse as well.
Just curious, but who is already on the market that is anything like her, whose music you would buy? As far as the "stage voice", something for show tunes, classics, etc., we haven't really had anyone like that since Bette Midler.
When Katharine is relaxed she has a very smooth alto sound that we haven't seen (heard) since Karen Carpenter. I may not be totally up on who's who in music today, but when I couldn't understand the words enough to sing along, I switched to country music... and yes, I CAN sing.
As far as David Foster goes, yes he has to find someone the public wants to buy and can learn a lot by watching who we vote for week to week. Getting it to sell can be done with creative marketing. Good points though.
Perfect song for taylor - Believe, Brooks and Dunn
Perfect song for Elliot - You're Beautiful, james Blunt
Good choice!
I so totally disagree with you on Katherine. I thought she nailed that song, and they did owe her and the audience an apology!
Wonder if he was doing "too soul-ful" of a rendition of the song or if it got too up-beat and they wanted another night of ballads? There's nothing saying that a love song can't be up tempo.
He has lost his sunny disposition though. I would really like to see his smile light up the screen the way it used to.
I got some feedback from last night's dinner:
1) Kellie knew she was going home after watching the tape of her performance. Packed her bag in advance. She is ditzy but swears like a truck driver
2) Everyone actually treats each other very well. No backstabbing, no BS as in previous years. Show people are amazed how well everyone gets on. There appears to be no jealousy.
3) Simon came to the kick off dinner last night. He's actually a prety nice guy I was told. A lot of fun.
4) Kat has a 40 something year old Greek boyfriend.
Pink Floyds, The Wall (Can anyone say Comfortably Numb? Run Like Hell?)
Queen's, The Game (Another One Bites The Dust)
Tom Petty Damn The Torpedo's (Refugee, Here Comes My Girl)
Now THAT doesn't surprise me a bit! lol
I'm not Greek. I'm Irish.

I love those insider tidbits!
Now I can say Kat reminds me of Jacquie Kennedy, because she has a Greek boyfriend 20 years older than herself. Is he in the shipping business, by any chance?
Things will be duller for the contestants without Kellie around.
They all seem to enjoy each other's company. You can see that whenever one of them has to leave.
I think you are right. It has to be hard on you to realize that you are trying to fight city hall. I think Bucky nailed it.
Van Halen's Women and Children First (Everybody Wants Some, And The Cradle Will Rock)
AC/DC Back In Black (Hells Bells, Back In Black, You Shoock Me All Night Long)
Ozzy's Blizzard of Oz (Crazy Train)
The Police, Zenyatta Mondatta (Don't Stand So Close To Me, De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da, Voices Inside My Head, When the World Is Running Down, You Make the Best of What's Still Around)
There's come great stuff opn this list. A lot of which is on my iPod.
Some songs are not meant to be covered and groups like 1980 Van Halen, AC/DC and Ozzie do not belong on Idol.
