If she drops out, I wonder if they will bring Bucky back.
When they booted Corey it was on a Monday, so they didn't bring anyone back they just didn't vote anyone off.
When mario dropped last year it was on a Friday, so they brought Nikko back.
Based on that my guess would be if she does do this tomorrow or Saturday at the latest they may bring Bucky back, if she waits they won't have time and just won't vote anyone off.
Still trying to verify. Rodney is in class for a couple more hours so it may be late tonight before he posts the interview or responds to my message.
What was it she wanted to do? Be a doctor?
A gynocologist, right? The singing gyno!
They can bring him back so people can do the right thing and kick Ace's ass of next episode.
Likely just fiction but if it is true then there will be some big waves.
I didn't know she wanted to be a gynocologist.
These are Queen----sized waves.
Seems that AI did some editing that Brian May isn't too happy about.
Can't post his stuff but will give a link to Brian May's site. AMERICAN IDOL - ACE - AND BEING MISREPRESENTED ..
It nerely confirms what most of already knew about the duplicity of AI when they want to steer voters against certain contestants.
That really is unfortunate. The participants should stand or fall on their own merits, not based on who the show management wants to push/pimp for. On a personal level Elliott speaks highly of Ace and while I don't care for Ace's performing style he shouldn't have to put up with people stabbing him in the back.
I agree and this time they deliberately undermined Ace, but who will it be next time? Not to mention their previously poor editing regarding Chris and not letting him say that he used someone else's version, or shrort shifting Taylor just because Hank jr got arrested. Does that mean they can do any music from stars that have been arrested in the past? Course not, I think their excuse was lame. I think they are getting blatant with their undermining of certain contestants.
Shoot, meant to tell you to check out the link in my post to Hetty. That person always has good things to say about Elliot and has good advice for improving his stage presence.
I saw that. Elliott is likely to go, "huh"?
He just opens his mouth and sings.
I wondered if the keeping the head level advice might help. Heck I don't know. But it might be something that he doesn't take into account. lol Who knows! :)
YES! Since Simon is chiefly responsible for the marketing, it's his comments that carry the most weight. If he thinks he won't be able to market you to the public, or if the kind of music you sing has been "over-done", then he'll slam you every time just so he doesn't have to market your music later on.
Netizen, thanks for a good link! Very interesting. This woman does know her stuff vocally (although I really disagreed with her on several things, such as the overall quality of Ace's performance -- even though it was true he lacked that annoying nasal thing he gets into, that song was just too big for him anyway).
BUT -- and I CANNOT stress this enough -- I absolutely would NOT have any of the singers read this site. It is just too late in the competition for them to go messing around with vocal production on their own. If they have access to GOOD vocal coaches through AI (and I certainly hope AI wouldn't be giving them mediocre ones), they should definitely use them. But to just read somebody's critique of their vocal technique and then try and apply it -- Good God, I shudder to think! Anything could come out. Seriously, it could really mess them up. The kind of advice this woman is offering, though it *is* good advice, is stuff they should have been working on for the last five years (like McPhee has been with her mom). It is too late to try and shoehorn it in now, at least without someone RIGHT THERE in their face to listen and help them adjust on the spot. Taking VOCAL advice from a web site and trying to apply it by themselves is a recipe for disaster. So no, I absolutely would not have them read that.
The right/wrong vocal coach is a make or break thing. I studied with one man who was a very well-known tenor in his day (I worked with him mostly because he was a big buddy of the woman I had studied with before that) for 4 years, and I made very little progress. I finally (in my senior year) figured out that it was because he was GREAT at working with men, but really not good at working with women. (Figured this out after listening to a lot of his other pupils.) From my perspective now, I realize that he was not sexist, but the problem was that men and women really produce sound very differently, and he apparently had not studied or had not been able to grasp the difference. Then for just a couple of months, I studied with another man whose other pupils I admired, and I was able to make a big breakthrough that had been eluding me for years. He knew how to work with women, and he knew how to work with a voice like mine. (Unfortunately, all that went down the tubes when I came down with severe anxiety and panic disorder ... oh well, life has been great in many other ways so I can't complain!)
Anyway, the answer is GOOD GOD NOOOOOO!! Don't have them look at that site. In my not-very-humble opinion. :)
Hey, what do you think aabout what Brian May had ro say about AI misrepresenting Ace?
I'll update the full story when I get confirmation from Rodney.
Apologies for what looks like a false alarm.
Re Brian May's comments (and which one was he, anyway? The one with the long hair or the tie?) -- I totally believe him. I am completely sure that AI, like every other "reality" show around, goes for the jugular at every opportunity. If it makes good TV, they'll use it, whether it's accurate or not (as long as it's not so demonstrably INaccurate that they can get sued for it).
Disagree with him about Ace's rendition of it, though. I just think it's not his type of song. But even though I think that song was too much for him, Ace's vocal production WAS better than what I've heard him do in the last 3 or 4 weeks. So I hope he can keep that full-voice production instead of turning into a whiny-voiced wimp again. (I keep thinking of Mama Rose: "Sing out, Louise!!" Good advice, really ... LOL!)
