I just read on MJ's blog that his original song choice was scrapped at the last minute. Spoilers say it's CLTCL now.

Who? Taylor? What is CLTCL?

Never mind. I thought you were saying that Crazy Little Thing Called Love was out and that something else was in.

If that is his second choice, then what was his first choice?

Here is my take on the song choices... Most of them are very good, with a couple huge WTF's.

• Ace Young, We Will Rock You
Oh boy Ace R&B's and "urbanizes" Queen's anthem. I can't wait. NOT!!! Blech BARF PUKE!!! I can't see any way this works.

• Bucky Covington, Fat Bottomed Girls
LOL! We have been asking for this song all week, and Bucky came through for us. I'll say it now --- He nails this and is SAFE!

• Chris Daughtry, Innuendo
BIg mistake IMO. The song fits Chris' hard driving style, but I think it is going to be another Creed moment for him. This song is too obscure, too biting and too dark lyrically for AI. Chris will regret this song choice.

• Elliott Yamin, Somebody to Love
This was one of the songs I picked for Eliot. This week is a huge bubble week for him, Kat and Paris. If any of them slip up they are in the bottom 3. Eliot has the ability to just nail this song -- let's hope he brings it.

• Katharine McPhee, Who Wants to Live Forever
Excellent Song Choice, and the exact song I picked for her. Same as Eliot, she nails it she is sailing along, she flubs and she may be gone tomorrow.

• Kellie Pickler, Bohemian Rhapsody
FIrst reaction - WTF??? Second reaction --holy crap, what a brilliant song choice. If she puts a country flair on this and nails it she will have just punched her ticket to the final 3. Make or break night. This WILL be one performance that we will be talking about for a long long time -- good or bad.

•Paris Bennett, The Show Must Go On
Another one who has chosen the exact song I picked for her. Same as El and Kat -- she nails it she puts herself back into the competition, she tanks and she is on the plane back to Georgia tomorrow.

• Taylor Hicks, Crazy Little Thing Called Love
Not what I picked for him, but Taylor has the potential to make this a "summertime" "bridge over troubled Water" "Independence Day" breakout performance. Have read a handful of accounts on other blogs and news stories that people who "CLAIM" to have seen rehearsals are all saying this will be one of the greatest performances in AI history. I hope to god they are correct. GO SOUL PATROL!!!!!

I think a lot of her (ie: Mandisa) votes will go to Paris.

It might be wise for Taylor to do his song bluesy and Paris to do something with a Mandisa type hairdo or makeup.

I'm going to stop being interested if the voters don't scrap Ace, Bucky, or Kathy this week....even though it would be kind of cool to see the AI producers who've messed some things up so badly this year end up with Bucky as their Idol!

You hear anything about Taylor ahving to scrap a previos choice at the last minute and settle for Crazy Little Thing Called Love?

I think Taylor needs to blues it up to make it his own. If he does karaoke he'll disapoint his fan base (again).

Yep! :)

I saw on some site final two pairings and one of them was Ace and Katharine. It suggested a theme of love songs and how they would both be playing up to the cameras making pretty! LMAO!! It went on to say that if Ace wasn't good looking he'd neve have made it past the Hollywood round.

HEaring that Taylor did change songs but that it was not a last minute thing. Apparently he and another contestant chose the same song, and rather than going head to head he agreed to change his song. Word is he had chosen "Somebody to Love" -- and seeing as he and Eliot are roommates I am sure that they did not want that hanging over them. At least that is my take on it.

1. I don't get it with the Ace being good looking thing. Those eyes are creepy.

2. If it's Ace and Katherine, I have a fantasy. They could do songs from THE WIZARD OF OZ. Katharine could wear a blue and white checkered dress, magic red shoes, and pig tails. Ace could fluff up his hair and be the cowardly lion.

I can understand not having two people do the same song. I sure hope it isn't another last minute change. He needs a really good performance tonight.

Everything I have read says it wasn't last minute. Taylor made the decision himself because he felt that "Somebody to Love" was a great song for Eliot, and he didn't want to step on his friends toes.

Bucky doing Fat Bottom Girls!! Yee Haw! This is gonna be fun!

I have a feeling The gherkin is gonna completely stink up the stage with Bohemian Rhapsody.

Queen is one of my favorite bands of all time. I am really looking forward to tonight!

I think I might feel kind of ripped off if she doesn't. LOL!

If they do to Queen what they did to Stevie Wonder music, you may never want to listen to Queen again!! <^..^>

Bucky is safe tonight if he rocks this song like I think he can. The only lyrics he needs diction for are the chorus!
