He couldn't find a better second choice?
One of the reasons ( among others) why Country Roads was a certifiable disaster for Taylor was simply because of the rush to finish. It ended before it barely began.
Part of the problem is that he didn't LIKE the song choice. He shot himself in the foot, a self inflicted wound. He's lucky he didn't lose his leg in the process. jmo
Last season they did a behind the scenes thing on one of the elimination nights and they showed the contestants going shopping and actuallly picking out clothes. I believe the stylists come with them. There also was a picture on TMZ.COM with Mandisa out shopping with one of the stylists.
I guess the article is obviously wrong, the writer lied and some contestants have crappy taste in clothes, ala Pickler's red Ho shoes.
On another board someone mentioned an interview with a bandmate who said that the song was selected for him. Take that for what it cost you....
LOL!! They could have changed it up, maybe? I don't know. Or maybe they just have really bad taste in clothing. They need Stacy and Clinton from What Not the Wear to help them out.
Or that America's pre-teen and young teen girls are incredibly shallow. That's who does most of the AI voting, and most girls (and guys) in that age bracket are shallow because they don't know better.
If someone selected it for him, you'd have to wonder if they were a fan for someone else. That song was just crappy for him and he didn't like it. That is a horrid mistake. jmo
Do you think Bucky wanted his hair curled? Remember the night Carrie's hair was all funky and Simon called her a stepford wife? I think the stylists push things onto them. Sometimes these stylists just don't get it.
Check your mail in few.
There's a pretty good article at a site that can't be named or linked. :(
I'd rather say "mis-stated" than "lied". All past stories indicate that the contestants get a clothing budget and are responsible for themselves. My guess is that the designers give them a few suggestions/choices -- I think the writer phrased this as "give them few choices" instead of "give them a few choices".
I believe the choices are only suggestions. Didn't someone point out that Chris, for example, just "does his own thing" regardless of the consultants' suggestions?
A simple yes or no will do.
She may not have realized they were going to cause a problem until that night -- especially if she tried them on early in the day. Speaking as a heavier person myself, the fit of a shoe greatly changes (for the worse) over the course of the day.
What's the highest heel you have ever worn?
About a quarter of an inch. :)
I rest my case! :)
Here's an interesting article. After reading it, I thought what a great assignment for English class something like writitng to the potential idols could be.
Contestant's call thrills 9-year-old

It was a routine night at the Scheer home until one phone call from a certain "American Idol" contestant from Fayetteville turned it into a special night.
It was nearly 9 p.m. and Patty Scheer received a call at her Fayetteville home. The incoming number wasn't revealed on the caller ID and when the called asked to speak to her 9-year-old daughter Taylor, who was nearly asleep, she politely said her daughter wasn't home.
According to Scheer, the caller responded, "This is Paris Bennett and I just wanted to talk to Taylor and thank her for her card."
Suddenly, an otherwise peaceful night became a little chaotic.
"I was kind of getting up slowly and when my mom said it was Paris Bennett I woke up really fast, Taylor said. "She said 'thank you for all of the cards,' and really liked mine with all the decorations."
"I wrote things like 'Good luck Paris' and my phone number," she added. "And I wrote, don't worry, I'm not a stranger. My mom works with your uncle at Mike & C's."
Taylor was one of several Braelinn third- and fourth-graders who received calls from Bennett. The students are members of the Kindness Kids Club, a club that promotes sharing random acts of kindness, according to school counselor Billie Anderson.
As part of a club project, kids were asked to create a letter expressing encouragement for Bennett, one of the finalists on American Idol.
"They are flying very high today," Anderson said after her students received their calls. "It just goes to show you what a caring person Paris is as well as a talented one."
As for Taylor's call, Patty Scheer said the conversation lasted several minutes and could tell Paris was doing most of the talking because Taylor was just listening. Just before the conversation ended Taylor told Paris "I love you," and then hung up.
She looked at her mom and contemplated future possibilities.
"Mom, do you think she could come over for dinner if she wins?"
