A friend of the star, who has gone through a series of bad relationships, said that she was very happy with Seacrest, and that she really enjoyed his company. Well sure... I'll bet he's just peachy at helping her redecorate.
Teri really enjoys his company, The Sun quoted the friend, as saying.
Seriously, how redundant can you get? This line immediately followed the previous section I quoted.

I'm really sorry to see Mandisa go. Really, really sorry.I know. I said before that she brought much needed grace and class to the show. Now the cattiness of the other girls will go unchecked :o

That's the only explanation that makes sense to me, and I don't know why either. She has an IDEAL body, IMO. But she hides it with baggy blouses. She has the confidence to sing in front of millions of people, but not the confidence to wear form-fitting clothes I'm sure her "roomie" Kellie is being real helpful with comments along the lines of (but more subtle than) "everybody loves your voice... who cares if you're fat?" -- McPhee would probably start to believe that after hanging around with the petite Pickler.
The fact is, you're absolutely right... Katharine has an ideal body shape, but this is an era that unfortunately celebrates the "waif" look.

...God can help you come out of any situation any lifestyle, etc...I was thinking that she was referring to the lifestyle of overeating/obesity. She has clearly become comfortable in the skin she's in, which I think is wonderful. Her very strong faith has also given her much confidence to speak out. I applaud her!

"Crazy Little Thing Called Love" ... It didn't work for David Radford. True. But he performed it like a bad Elvis impersonator.

I truly believe it was her outfit. It certainly didn't help her :)

McPhee has been a big disappointment to me, because I have thought she has the best voice of the girls. But man, there is just no there, there. Katherine is kind of like LaToya London was - pretty, great voice, but doesn't connect emotionally with her audience and comes across as being "above it all". She's the best singer left, but I'll bet she doesn't make the final three.
Queen songs are very easy to perform in styles other than hard rock, so this should actually be a better week for everyone. Chris will probably revert to form and do a straightforward rock song like "Hammer to Fall". Katherine should sing "I Want it All"...LOL!
And whoever loses should sing "Another One Bites the Dust" as their final performance - even Simon would laugh. ;)

She was one of the better, if not the best singer on there!Yeah, but she had two bad performances in a row. None of them can afford to do that. Taylor better shape-up or he'll be next.

IMO
Mandisa should have sang Dolly Parton's 'I will always love you' on Tue.
She could have belted that one out with ease.
To: EmilyGeiger
The audience started to sing Gambler with him. Kenny stopped the show and said excuse me but people paid to hear me sing not you. He was serious. Ouch, really?
Maybe they were so loud they were drowning him out?

Yup ,and see my last post.

Didn't that happen a season or two ago? Some black singer was voted off and the audience was shockedIt's happened twice that I remember. Tamyra in Season 1 and Latoya in Season 3.

Simon repeatedly conveys the thought that to be idol there must be not only the ability to consistently perform, but to radiate a star persona.
Mandissa could not do that. While very talented she has no star power. Wearing a tent did not project a star image.
Elliot has no star power and unattractively lacks a toooth. Bucky has no star power and is relegated to the role of sideman of which there are thousands in Nashville. Chris is flat posesses a two dimansional personality totally lacking the critical star plane. Paris shows glimmers of the star power. Kathryn has the smile and projects the quality but shyly slips back into common sometimes. Taylor is all facade. Kellie can sing, she is quite attractive, she has a naviete that will produce a winner.

She is FAR more talented then Taylor, Elliot and Ace. She's gone becuase she is fat. She is gone because she had two "clunker" weeks in a row. If it was because she was fat, she would have been in the bottom three at least once before now.

KILLER QUEEN would be hard to do.... That's why I suggested it for Elliott... he'll be able to handle the runs and the "lightness" of the quick tempo -- much like "Moody's Mood For Love" he did in the semis.

But I still don't believe that the Gherkin is getting that many votes.
She can't be. IMO. But, the bottom end looks very accurate. Paris and Mandisa were only a single percentage point apart, well within whatever margin of error they were using.
If that was accurate, then Paris and Mandisa's votes combined were still less than Elliot, but within the Margin.
Then, they had Bucky and Ace as the next closest to the bottom three, about where we all suspect they are. There's only a single percentage between Katherine and Chris, and if the 3 groups last night were top 3, middle 3, and bottom 3, then this is about as close a prediction as I have seen from any source.
I can't believe that Kellie is getting the most votes, much less more than 2 times the 2nd place. I also have trouble believing Dial Idols numbers that show Taylor having the most votes week after week. Particularly this week when he may very well have been the worst performer.
Here's the thing about Taylor, IMO. I don't see him gaining many more fans week after week. People either love Taylor or hate Taylor. I love Taylor (but like Chris best). My wife hates Taylor. As idols are eliminated, most of their votes will probably go to idols other than Taylor in the competition, eventually leaving him the odd man out.
My top 3 at this time would be Chris, Kellie, and Katherine.
To: TAdams8591
You may need to get a knife & fork ready to eat those words. Taylor may not win this competition, but he will get a recording contract and his CD will sell in the millions! All he needed was a mechanism for more people to know who he is; ...and yes, charisma sells.
I'm not impressed with Chris as a singer. Did you see how hard it was for him to "sing" a song from start to finish and not resort to screaming? I would be interested in your insight about him.

I was really hoping Katherine would do anything by Shania Twain. I like her, but wasn't happy with the song she picked.

Here's my problem with the finalists as a whole... who among them is going to have both a broad appeal and also bring something to a genre that is currently missing?
Kellie? I doubt it... country has already found its new young female star in Carrie Underwood (who is more attractive and talented than Kellie will ever be), and the tightrope she's walking between "Redneck Barbie" and "Trailer Park Wh*re" is going to cause her to slip up eventually.
Chris? Nope. While Simon may want to get his claws into the alt-rock genre, what does Chris bring that doesn't already exist out there? Besides, it's clear Chris wants to do the harder stuff, whereas his only appeal is in the "cute and fuzzy" face he puts on alt-rock. Horrible mismatch waiting to happen there.
Paris? Who knows... I'm still trying to figure out who or what she is. Until she develops her own style, she's not going to really get any kind of following.
Ace? He's nothing but an overgrown, creepy, boy-band singer.
Taylor? His genre appeal is too limited, and he's mostly a novelty.
Bucky? Not good enough, especially to make it in the already crowded country market.
Katharine? Despite being my personal favorite, I have a hard time seeing her be a huge success. She'd be more of an "adult contemporary" type of singer than a pop singer, which is a large enough market and one that could use some fresh blood, but that's also a real hit-or-miss kind of market -- wild success or dismal failure.
Elliott? Another one who is hard to see as a "pop" singer. I just don't really see a market for a jazzy vocalist these days.
