He actually didn't do anything special but you could say that about all of them really. This is really just a popularity contest more than anything though.

"When she was culled down to the bottom two last week she radiated a look of absolute contempt and fury...hatred incarnate. (McPhee) She really did! Her eyes were burning holes in the camera lens."I know.
It was hot.

I am praying for our boy Eliot tonight Rob. I didn't get a single busy signal for him :-( , but I did register at least 75 votes for him :-)

Elliot's a good man and a huge talent. I hope this show launches his career.
I'll buy whatever he puts out.
To: TonyWpi
Virginia was busy all night for Elliott.

Same here Senator. I am hoping for a good Jazzy/soul album from Eliot. I think he has a chance to slowly build a great career. He may never be a huge POP star, but I can see him slipping into the top of the Jazz charts quite easily.

We were really busy in VA but since there are 150 people in his extended family and all of the friends he has it might be a biased sample. He was not the worst tonight though. Frankly, if people didn't vote this as a popularity contest Taylor should be in the bottom 3. He was the worst of the entire night.

There's a great Country radio station here called "Country Legends" and that's exactly what they play: Waylon, Willie, Cash, Mel, Merle, The Possum :) And it's GREAT! So refreshing to hear genuine Country music.Perhaps AI can't get the rights to use those songs. A lot of artists and songwriters won't let AI use their material. They can't get the rights to use any Beatles music, for example.

If the other singers continue to drop the ball she might go farther than she deserves to.Jonny, three weeks ago or so, I posted to you that I think this is the weakest group of finalists ever on AI. You didn't agree, which is great because differences of opinion make this show and this thread. But I'm curious what you think now that we've gotten to know them and their abilities a bit better.
BTW, I'm asking this before I've seen tonight's show. I just got home and it's still recording. I'll watch it after the whole show records.

(McPhee) She really did! Her eyes were burning holes in the camera lens. You're not alone in seeing something odd about Katharine. It's really hard to pin down exactly what it is, but people on music forms comment on it, too.
Earlier in the season I thought it was just that Katharine was the product of an overly pushy vocal-coach mom, and maybe that's part of it. But I don't know. There's something in the girl's body language that is just odd. It's like she's always peeking out at you from behind a curtain, and she knows something no one else does and is not telling.

"It's like she's always peeking out at you from behind a curtain, and she knows something no one else does and is not telling"That's because I'm married.
It would just be a complicated mess if she came clean.

What was the song Chris sang tonight..he did a beautiful job...is it a Keith Urban song? I'd buy that CD in a heartbeat.

"I thought it was just that Katharine was the product of an overly pushy vocal-coach mom, and maybe that's part of it"Actually I think she is consumed with ambition, as is her roommate Kellie Pickler. Perhaps this is why they got on so well. Both could potentially become Diva Monsterettes in their careers, they want it so bad. Sort of like Martin Sheen in the Dead Zone.
And I say this as fans of both. They are both in this to win. I gather from Taylor, Mandisa and Elliot that they are happy to be there and would like to parlay all of this, but Kellie and Katherine came her to become Idols.

Both could potentially become Diva Monsterettes in their careers, they want it so bad.Indeed. One or possibly both of them will have to lose, though. Then they will probably become instant enemies. If I had to bet, I'd say Katharine goes before the Pickle, and Chris beats them all.
