Yeah, you are probably right. Chris and Kat's seem to be in the North and West...from what other's said they have a larger crowd of text messagers as well. I just hope it's TAylor and Elliot in the top 2, but I have a bad feeling it will be Chris and Kat.

copy of my email to Fox, which felt good even if it accomplishes nothing else..... -------------------------------------------------------

I was completely disgusted by Ryan Seacrest's behavior toward Elliott Yamin on the results show yesterday evening. Ryan set Elliott up by asking him how sweaty he would be at a future show time, and then turned to the camera and said "Now that's a nice thought, America."

You should only play back and watch the expressions on the faces of both Chris and Taylor. Both are apparently decent men with integrity and class - take notes, Ryan, and maybe you, too, can one day approach this quality of life.

May you die young and painfully, Ryan, and in a great deal of your own sweat. Picking on a sweet young kid like Ellliott is one way to show us what kind of mother raised you. He's not going to be the next American Idol, but he has more class in his smallest drop of sweat than you do in your largest dreams.

So I guess this is the heart and soul of American Idol? This was my first season to become interested and get involved, however I think this kind of behavior is nauseating enough to make me lose interest.

This group song seems cheesier than usual

That must make it cheesier than the state of Wisconsin, then.

Maybe she'll move to Massachusetts and breifly marry Liz Taylor at some point.

Yes, that is a nice dress, though I like the infamous yellow one too.

But what's with the costumer putting chains on all three of the guys?

it was in response to jonny's comment about gum and Ace's scar whitening your teeth. Blech.

You should've read the fine print!

Ace's Scar accepts no responsibility for nausea, vomiting, loss of bowel and/or bladder control, loss of taste, nosebleeds or foaming at the mouth associated with chewing Ace's Scar. Chew Ace's Scar at your own risk.

Never swallow Ace's Scar. The result could be instant death. Or an increased sex drive--we're not sure.

Do not chew Ace's Scar if one or more of your teeth contains mercury fillings. Ace's Scar may react violently, causing an explosion. (Ace's Scar accepts no responsibility for that either.)

By chewing Ace's Scar you have waived your right to sue, prosecute or malign Ace's Scar or it's subsidiaries.

Ace's Scar reminds you, if you don't bother it, it won't bother you.

:)

Grabbed this from another site, which:

Grabbed this off MJ's big blog:

Nigel Lythgoe's Weekly Interview with TVweek.com

Nigel Discusses the Top 5

Nigel thought it was a good night. He said it was a Potpourri of different musical styles.

Elliott - Nigel preferred Scott Savol's version of "On Broadway" from Season 4's Top 5 (Scott was eliminated that night). "But, Elliott's got such a wonderful voice, you can't knock him, I don't think," said Nigel.

Paris - Nigel said, "I thought she had a lot of fun with it, and showed that she's got two sides to her. There's this sort of smokey voiced Princess P and this fun dancing one. I much prefer her singing the smokey stuff...she is old fashioned in her style, she should be proud of that, and I think she should embrace that...she puts herself with too many other people who sing like that, and her second number with Mary J. Blige, too...there is something very special about Paris, at this moment in time people are saying...she is too precocious, because she shouldn't have that voice at her age. She's only 17, God has given her a wonderful instrument, and I hope she continues to sing like that. "

Chris - The interviewer said he and his family thought Chris's first song was the highlight of the night. "I think that Styx song was fantastic," said Nigel, "It was probably my second favorite of the night."

Katharine McPhee - Nigel's first favorite of the night was Katharine's performance of "Black Horse and Cherry Tree" About "Against All Odds" Nigel simply said, "I didn't like it."

Taylor Hicks - About "Play that Funky Music", Nigel said, "I thought he had great fun with it, and that continued on when he lay on the floor at the end, and Ryan took him back to the floor for his numbers. That just showed to me why we chose Ryan as a host. He used that moment brilliantly. It was another 'Brokeback Moment' on Idol, both of them lying on the floor there."

Elliott Pt 2 - "It might be my ear, but I thought Elliott was slightly out of tune on that. I don't think I've heard Elliott sing out of tune--it could possibly be me. I thought he was out of tune."

Chris Pt 2 - About Chris having a "voice breakdown" on "I Dare You"--Nigel said, "I don't know about that...he's got a gravelly voice and he uses that when he wants to, I just didn't really like that song. I thought the Styx "Renegade" was so much better."

Taylor Pt 2 - About Taylor singing a 30+ year old song for his Top 10 choice, Nigel said, "Well, we've always said they could sing from any chart, and there it was in the compilation charts...so he was entitled to use anything. It was just great to hear a Beatles song on American Idol. We only got it cleared because George Harrison wrote it, not Lennon/McCartney...delighted with him and I think as Simon said, 'it's nice to know you have a voice as well with all of the fun'...for my money, I think Taylor got it...nearly got it right on both songs. I think everybody else let themselves down on one of their songs.

The interviewer asked if anybody ever asked to do the XTC song, "We're Only Making Plans For Nigel" (one of the bad auditioners sang this song). Nigel laughed and said, "No, and they wouldn't." Then Nigel almost called the band "XLC", until the interviewer corrected him.

No special elimination tricks this week. Nigel said, "It's difficult with 5...just got to get down to the Bottom 2." Each of the Bottom 2 will sing a song. And according to Nigel, "They've got a fabulous song they'll all sing together called, "Together We are One." It's from the British Commonwealth Games, and....it allows everybody to shine...and we've got a big choir with that. It's going to be an exciting night."

Next Tuesday, the Top 4 are taking a private jet down to Graceland. Priscilla Presley is going to, according to Nigel, "introduce the beautiful house to our contestants and Tommy Mottola is going to be there to take them through the Elvis catalogue and talk them through the songs...and they have to sing two Elvis songs next week."

It's all about the WHOOOOOOOO!!!

Elvis songs seem to be in Taylor's wheel house, but if he sings very high tempo songs, it will be to his detriment. His up tempo stuff is at best, campy. Almost contrived fun. His voice is best shown on slow to medium tempo songs. Gives him a chance to get real emotion into things. I really have not enjoyed a single one of his high tempo performances. About the fastest song he could do out of Elvis' massive list of song is "Return to Sender". Fun song, allows the showing of range, might keep his urge to over "dance" under control. For something a little slower, maybe he should take a crack at "In the Ghetto". High emotion song with range. If he did that well, it might be a tear jerker.

For Chris, the obvious choice for him is "That's All Right". He could be really good with that song. He should then take the tempo completely down and close with "Love Me Tender", if for no other reason than to save his voice, but also to show versatility.

This week could be a struggle for Elliott, but there are songs he could pull off that could be gold for him. "Its Now or Never" could be tremendous for him. A little tempo to show some versatility and a song to display his superior range. For a slow song, I'd say go with "Falling in Love with You". Only concern I would have with the song is it is a low octave song, but I think he could get the job done with it. Order of song will be critical for him. I'd open with "Falling in Love with You" and when the rest of the four are slowing things down on their second song, he finishes with "Its Now or Never" as a contrast.

Katherine I think has been dealt a bad hand with this week, which I think is for the best, because she should have been gone for a while now. I'd go with "Are You Lonesome Tonight" and "Burning Love". I don't think she will survive in a week where the songs are from a male artist, particularly one with such a distinctive style that she will not be able to give her own spin to.

In order, I expect them to finish Chris, Elliott, Taylor, Katherine, but it all hinges on song choice, which this bunch has done a really bad job in many cases.

I think Return to Sender is too blah for Taylor. I still like One Night for him because its bluesy and that's more his style. Little Sister would be good, too.

I'll bet Taylor and Chris (or Eliott) wouldn't mind having Katharine in the middle! LOL

Well, she has broader shoulders than either of them, so she has to stand in the middle. ;)

I thought Eliot volunteered that he sweated a lot. Why are you blaming Ryan for?

That was my suggestion for Katherine. Taylor should sing something up-beat that he can dance to.
